Forged what? Forged pistons? Forged wheels? Forge BPV :) ?

Forgive our juvenile attitudes!

I wouldn't worry about going forged until you try to make really big power >350whp etc. Big turbo, aggressive tuning, etc. would be the kinds of things that would call for stronger internals.

Most engines are purposely designed to handle at least 10-20% more hp than they come with from the factory. It's a simple liability precaution. If the engineers say it can handle 300 hp, they de-tune it to 250 or so to make sure they don't see thousands of warranty claims and lawsuits for completely stock blown engines. So yeah, until you add significant hp, forged internals are overkill, and a waste of money.

As for fuel pumps, until you start adding a lot more air to your mix, either thru overboosting the stock turbo or bolting on something beefier, the stocker ought to be OK. (Unless there is a deficiency in the stock unit that I am not yet privy to) And I have heard all sorts of stories of blowing turbo seals, even on bone stock MS3's, so overboosting the stocker seems like adding a bullet or two to the chambers before playing Russian roulette.

When you get near 350 unless your running meth, you should go forged. Then you could crank it up a bit. But you still wont be able to get past 400 or so. Untill this fuel thing gets figured out, you should proly go meth and save up mony for the build

I'm planning on going with new forged rods and pistons from the start. Would like to get to 350 whp, possibly adding a big turbo down the road. The car has under 1400 miles on it so consider this my insurance for pitching the warrenty.

The MS3's internals are already forged no?

fuel has already been figured out. solution is a upgraded fuel pump.

thats all the fuel system needs to make over 400hp

You don't need to go forged until you get into after market turbo options.
If you are fully bolted methanol is a must.
If you are Intake/dp/intercooler or more, you need FP internals.

round 400whp you should think about getting forged upgraded internals

A lot of people think that, but they aren't. I've toyed with the thought of going forged once I get the money together.
