OEM 3rd Brake Light LEDs?

Just curious to know if the Speed3's 3rd brake light is LEDs or not?

I've just been curious over the past few weeks because I noticed that some vendors sell LED 3rd brake lights for our cars - maybe it's for earlier Mazda3s? I guess I should stop being lazy and just have my wife step on the brakes while I look.

Maybe I'm crazy, but isn't the fact that they're completely clear and then light up red a pretty clear indicator that they're LEDs? (dunno)

My 08 M3 5 door came with an LED 3rd brake light. My 05 did not.
