So driving home last night just a normal boring driving pace my car just lost power. Downshifting and throttle didnt even cause the car to decelerate slower for the most part. Brought it to a stop on the side checked the engine bay for any obvious issues, checked fluids to be safe. No CEL thrown, tried to start it back up cranks perfectly fine. After stopping cranking a odd nouse come sorta from the trunk/backseat area that lasts for a second or two then stops. The car will sometimes kick over once as if it wants to start, but wont do anything more beyond that and goes back to cranking.
As for the noise its like a handsander on big sheet of wood, but a lower tone.
Based on the location of the noise i would guess its the pump, any other ideas ideally easy checks? Digging through my shop manual now, Sadly i do not have fuel pressure gauge, not sure if i should just pull a fuel line and see if i get fuel or not.
