i couldnt believe how easy this really was... first i got a decent pair of crimpers 147760 and a piece of 16ga. 2.25" aluminum piping 147761 place pipe in the crimpers until pipe hits back of crimpers them press firmly till completely compressed and repeat all the way around pipe. 147762147763147764

Wow....can't believe I never thought of that when I was doing piping....I am pretty creative.....especially when it comes to "Custom" tools.

naw just needed to make some room for the synapse valve and cobb SF so i cut the "S" pipe that wraps around the valve down by the fender and with my brail battery i was able to make it a straight shot to the fender i will post picks for ya later on today maybe

Great info Dr. d! Normally I do any beading I have to on a Pexto rolling machine, but most people don't have access to a full sheetmetal fabrication shop. The only thing I could think to add is to press the bead in about 3 passes applying a little more pressure each time until you get the full bead. It stretches the metal a little more evenly (important if you end up using thinner pipe), but that's just my sheetmetal background being a little anal. Still a great how-to for the community though and should provide nice results either way.

definitely anal, but from a metal worker's standpoint I see where you're coming from.

if u dont have a pipe bead on any pipe that has to deal with ur turbo u run the risk of leaking air or it popping off at any given time.. with the pipe bead there and lets say u have a t-clamp or a worm clamp u can tighten the clamp behind the pipe bead and it cant slip off because the bead will block the clamp from moving..

This Doctor Octopus looking thing. I apologize if it's blatantly obvious to everyone else. I just haven't seen one of these yet.

oh i see. thats the synapse synchronic by-pass valve. three lines run to it: 2 VAC lines and a BOSST ONLY source. helps open the valve faster and gives it more of a stock feel when daily driver... like when you r on the highway got to pass someone and let off a little bit and the car jumps back and forth b/c the valve opened completely. this helps combat that.

I manage to learn something every day from folks on these forums. Thanks for the explanation!
So essentially, the valve itself can throttle to a percentage open versus something like a Forge BPV that is either all open or all closed?
