My 6 spiked 17 held about 14. I think the 6/3/cx-7 are all the same.

(cool), thank you, I just put a Turbosmart BOV and thats why im asking. Im putting boost gauge next week and want to make sure everything is working smoothly. About the, FMIC, downpipe, or Cobb AP the only thing I know is downpipe and I;m not sure who makes it but I would imagine it would be from the same maker who are making Exaust/headers for these motors.
What is FMIC and Cobb AP?
I noticed you have a BPV what is the difference between BPV and BOV?

Max is 14.9. Boost will vary depending on certain parameters.
1. Temperature at the MAF sensor
2. Temperature at the MAP sensor
3. Gear (1st and 2nd are limited to less than 10psi)
4. Fuel (Low octane/quality gas will trigger knock sensors, leading to ignition timing pulled and lowered boost)
Expect to normally see around 12.5psi to 14psi...
Non made for FMIC yet for our car because its bring bad turbo lag for our cars from what i heard. but they do make TMIC for our car. ETS top mount intercooler i recommend i have one and feel lots of differents compare to stock. Second for down pipe go with CPe or corksport that's also exhaust they special on our cars. Just make sure you dont get ETS TMIC with quickpipe Cpe or downpipe without re-flash your ECU because you definitely get fuel cut once you pass 15psi and its not good. Hope this helps

Doesn't the car need to make more power before the intercooler makes a difference? What do you mean about reflash? Is there a computer/chip I can buy for this car?
And thanks for the PSI advice. Is 12.5 - 14 with TMIC or OEM? I put BOV and want to make sure im not dipping under or spiking to high.
Note: I think the BOV makes the car feel more responsive and if you dont have one I highly recommend Turbosmart BOV

i dont think cpe makes a downpipe for the cx7. only corksport. whick sucks cause i want a catted downpipe. the cobb ap isnt available for the 7 yet but ive heard that they are slowley working on one. im thinking of working with a shop to make a water/air intercooler. shouldnt have to worry about turbo lag then. im gonna ask him about making a kit for others. also thinking about taking the turbo from a speed 3 or 6 and swaping it in. i know the engine can handle it. we'll see

hks valve is awesome. never had an issue with it on my speed 3. i think the rkm is the same thing even has the spots for the hks logo.

First off this what i did with my upgrade stages
1.Forge BOV because stock ones leak and only max 11-12 on stock but forge got me 13.5psi max
2. NRG voltage Stabilizer constant voltage power
3.Cpe Xcel CAI- improve power and torque
4.Prosport Electric boost gauge
5. Scangauge II
6. ETS Tmic ( Throttle response improved, no turbo lag, Intercooler stay cool, more power on car and torque and increase psi im pushing 14.9-15psi max
7. Greddy catch can (soon to be Installed)
8. Quick Y electronic cutout (soon to be installed)
And regarding of re-flash ecu go to Cpe website or protegegarage.com they have the info for it.
Hope this helps

Thanks for the detailed response but now I have even more questions then before. Hope you don't mind.
NRG voltage Stabilizer constant voltage power? Is this like a grounding kit?
Scangauge II? What is this and where can I get it?
Cpe Xcel CAI- improve power and torque. What is this? Is it exaust?
I just got a boost gauge it is vaccum and boost, I will keep you posted on what I'm sitting at. I just need to get the pod and find a nice place to mount.
Thanks for all your help

is not a ground kit if need more info about it go to NRGinnovation.com.
The scangauge II info go to scangauge.com
the Cpexcel CAI is an Cold Air Intake design for our cars and adds power and torque.

good to know but i already ordered the HKS. I hear it is just as good offers more low end torque then top end power which will benifet me better

HKS makes the "Racing Suction Intake" very short intake, supposed to give more low end power then top end which is fine with me because of the line this car is a lemon

Do you find that the HKS RSI is good? Did u feel a large difference? Mine is coming in on Friday im very excited. Was it hard to put on? Any problems with heat?
Thanks

I noticed that it gets very hot when i push it harder but the difference is huge. And its really easy to install took me about 30 min for everything.

From noticing the heat problem would you recommend that I get the HKS or the Cold Air Intake? I still have the opportunity to change the order because the HKS is on back order and shipment was delayed by 10 days.

No dont change it!HKS is great its easy to install ad youre not gonna have problems in rain!Where did you order it anyway?

Got the HKS RSI in today. Sitting here at work bleeding waiting to get home to install it. What a small box it comes in. I bet it will take longer to put the intake together then to install it on my car. I'll post the differences once it is done.

Thank you. Did you keep the little air scoop that funneld air into the black box or did you remove that?
Zdraveca
05-13-2009, 09:52 PM
actually at first i did not
because you have to push it in and also it does not get a lot of air(before you cut it) thats what i did i cut it and pushed it in and its not that big of a difference but youll have to uy the forge bpv its great :)
Chico6911

push it in? I noticed its a little floppy because nothing holds the bottom part. But I noticed it funnels air right into the intake so I left it alone. I can't cut it because I have extended warranty and when I go for free servicing I have to put it back to stock.
Naw I don't want the BPV cause I have the Hybrid BOV.
