Hello everyone, I am new here and I now own a Mazdaspeed3 2009 in Black Mica.

I love the car and the ride so far, and I know it will only get better as it warms up.

Now for my story, I got the car cleaned up this weekend with a polish and some TLC. It just broke 1k on the mileage and went to the movies.

When leaving the theater some punk kids thought it would be cute to egg my car so now less then a month old I have paint damage where the egg hit from the shell scratching my paint and I will have to get the passenger door repainted. At least I got some photos in earlier in the day before it happened.

now for the photos from earlier in the day, none of the damage yet.

Grats on the purchase. Sorry to hear about the eggs 8(. Makes me feel better about that wierd Xzylon Paint protectant thing the dealer talked me into buying. Although I'm not sure if it would do anything against egg shells either.

Are you sure you can't use touch-up on that? If you do it right, i.e. get a touch-up kit that has very fine point brushes, you can cover up the scratches, wet-sand any overflow, and it'll look like new. Reason I bring it up is that by painting the entire door they might have to blend the paint into the fender or rear door if the paint doesn't match perfectly (this happened to one of my cars a few years ago...should have gone to a good paint shop, I guess...)

So how long after purchase did you take delivery of the car?

You got comprehensive policy on your insurance? I would think this would be covered under it. Grats on the purchase and welcome :)

Lance: Still got your Malibu?
Vincent: Aw, man. You know what some fucker did the other day?
Lance: What?
Vincent: Fucking keyed it.
Lance: Oh, man, that's fucked up.
Vincent: Tell me about it. I had it in storage for three years, it was out for five days and some dickless piece of shit fucked with it.
Lance: They should be fucking killed. No trial, no jury, straight to execution.
Vincent: Boy, I wish I could've caught him doing it. I'd have given anything to catch that asshole doing it. It'd been worth him doing it just so I could've caught him doing it.
Lance: What a fucker!
Vincent: What's more chickenshit than fucking with a man's automobile? I mean, don't fuck with another man's vehicle.
Lance: You don't do it.
Vincent: It's just against the rules.

feel your pain, man. i get as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs every time i park at walmart...btw idiots who slam their door into yours & asshole kids, the world's just not a safe place for shiny new cars...oh well, lookit the bright side. it's not a virgin anymore, from now on the next scratch won't matter as much.

yup and a 250 deductible, so I am not going to be too bad off, but it sucks being less then a month old.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes and the comforts, I do appreciate it.

I just changed my policy to $0 deductible on Comprehensive and it's only $2 more a month. May want to check into that if you expect these things happening again in your area.

Also I forgot to ask, does anyone do SCCA autocross? I am looking at doing it for fun(not to be majorly competative) and I wanted to see what people do to the speed3s with out changing classes and such.

I was wondering if changing tire widths would change my class.

Also anyone live in the STL area that would want to help with the corksport insert? I have no tools myself, but I am more then willing to do the wrench time and by ya some dinner or some beer for some help :).

Thanks for the tip on the deductible, I will check into it after I get the current damage fixed.

Second time in 7 or 8 years that I have to use the comprehensive, and the first time it wasn't mother nature.

Yeah, I'm a sucker, what can I do... I hear they sell that stuff for 50 bucks on Ebay. Of course then I would have to apply it myself.

What do you mean? I drove it off the lot immediately after I bought it. They called me back to make an appoitment for the application of Xzylon couple of days later.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at. Just wanted to see if they actually put something on or they just said "Yep, it's there!"

I never heard from the cops again, so I assume the little bastards where not caught. I am thinking about checking the area out on foot around the same time on the same Bat Channel in a week or two.

If there is egg on your car... there should also be blood on your hands.
