Well sad to say i have two small issues with my six after 6 months and 13000 miles. The front windshields foam is pushing up onto the dashboard. My rear passenger window has a raddle when its down. Other that I am having no issues with it.
Anyone one else having issues with their 6?

The Bose stereo is a blight on society? :D :D :D
My quams are design flaws, not defects; rain sensor is pitiful, lights don't go on with wipers, aux is flaky, iphone in the cup holder makes weird noises.
LOTS more to like than hate :)

can't unlock all doors on driver side
can't unlock all doors on driver side
Had my setup changed so that the driver's door unlocks via the sensor, unlock the remaining doors using the request button. Option 4 from the owner's manual.

at one point my 'one touch windows' (pushing the button all the way down/up to auto roll down the windows) stopped working for about a day, but they magically fixed themselves within 24 hours.... just kind of strange

Any power loss (battery drain, taken off to hook something up?) -- my CR-V used to require you 'reprogram' it by rolling it all the way down once, then all the way up . . . wonder if it was the same thing.
Adding to my list of complaints . . . wife is NOT setting off the passenger occupancy sensor - tech said it's her weight (80 lbs) and we can't fix it.
Probably going to write Mazda and ask they look into making this a configurable option . . .

I am having the same foam issue on the dash as the post starter and a very annoying rattle in the passenger side door.
One other issue is that I am getting moisture seeping into the rear taillights, which is creating a haze underneth the lens cover, which I cant get to. It is getting progressively worse.
Other than those items, the car has been great for the first 5k miles.

I quickly found the rattle on the passenger side that the wife was complaining about. The buckle on the shoulder belt was rattling against the door post. Check to see if that could be the source of your rattle also.

i bought my 2009 mazda 6 at the end of april, and here are a few things wrong with mine:
1. the glove compartment was stuck and when i tried to open it, the handle broke off. (no it was not locked.)
2. the speakers are beginning to vibrate and i dont play my stereo loud at all.
3. when i close the door, it sounds like the window is going to be thrown off track. it doesnt sound stable at all.
i've had a crappy little chevy cavalier, and an old honda accord, and neither of them ever had any of these problems. i'm scared this may just be the beginning of bad things to come. i sure hope not.
is anyone else having any of these problems?

Pass seat has a sensor. 65-85 pound grey area. If the person is below that weight it will disable the pass airbag automatically.

Just had the foam on my dash (at base of windshield) repaired. Dealer had Factory Rep inspect the car and they settled on a repair. Consensus was the adhesive on the foam tape had failed. It was replaced with the following part numbers:
F151-55-162 Tape, Seal
F151-55-163 Tape, Seal
Just picked up the car yesterday from this repair. Her is a picture of what was happening to the foam seal.

I also have the foam coming up under my windshield. I have to bring the car in because my front door needs to be aligned. I will have them correct the foam also.
Hopefully they will do the repair correctly and not just push it down.

My glove compartment does not open smoothly at all. You have to push pretty hard to close it. Sounds like something is going to crack. I hardly ever need it, so I haven't really worried too much about it.

My g/fs 6s Touring has a sticky glovebox. I noticed this when trying to find the owners manual. It definitely needs to be addressed.

The foam is coming up in mine as well. I think I will take it in tomorrow after work.

Hopefully Mazda takes notice to the foam issue since there are a number of people with the same problem.

Just rec'd my black 2009 Mazda6 GTi 6MT with MR/Bose, spoiler but no nav. a few issues so far (300 Miles) . Love ride, acceleration decent for 4cly. shifter is awesome!!!
1) at delivery (I live out of state from dealer) what appeared to be minor spot on hood in showroom looks in sunlight to be softball sized paint defect - have put dealer on notice must fix/replace ASAP.
2) drive window made "clunk" noise when it went down all the way a few times but working (flashback to 87 626Gt - I could reset/repair d/s window with blindfold!)
3) accelerator/throttle seems to be anticipating my move too quickly esp in light around town driving and gives sensation of hiccup/lunge - and makes it look like I don't know what I'm going with clutch except that it's between shifts. (plus 3x mazda manuals I have this down pat!!)
4)also have glove box issue.
UPDATE Sunday 11/8 - drove car to & from work on Friday. Moved it in and out of garage this afternoon. Went to go to my hockey game - opened trunk, opened drivers door to open garage door with opener and decided to start car while I got a few more things. CAr would not start. Dash etc lit up like Christmas tree, ext. lights came on and push button said on but car was not running. Shut of auto lights and tried 3x - not start. Move hockey stuff to wife van and locked up Mazda. Still had dashboard lights on but had to get to hockey, Came home two dashboard lights still on but interior and exterior lights off. Tried to start again nothing even with aux key. Now battery draining and would not lock with key & sounds coming from front of radiator almost like horn with dying battery but all lights still fairly strong. CAlled roadside for morning tow to dealer - 500 miles on car.
