Which way to run power lines?? Drwaing inside

OK I'm about to run wiring to power my gauges. I've read that my best option may be to Tap the power off the line that feeds the Cig lighter. I've also read that I should fuse the lines for safety. I did 2 drawings to see which way I should tap the line. Either one tap off the main line fusing that one or 3 taps off the main line fusing each for each gauge. I'm thinking the 2nd is over kill but I have no clue about electrical. I will add that I have an I-Go cellphone charger that I keep plugged into to the cig lighter that I rarely use, but since it's justa small stub I just keep it plugged in.

I did option 1 - but tapped the 12v constant and acc power at the ignition wiring harness. There's a diagram at my post under the first picture. A cheap voltmeter really helps.
