Just picked up my new to me 2003 Protege 5 white 5spd (with familia and sport 20 badges) and the seller did not have the keyless entry remote, which I'll order a replacement on ebay or something, The question I have is that I thought if you turned the key to lock/unlock the drivers door the other doors would do that as well. I can lock/unlock with the button inside but that is it. Anyone have any idea's on what's going on with my car? Thanks in advance for the help.

On my car, I can turn the key to unlock my door, but then if I hold it in that position the other doors will unlock aswell. You may want to try that.

I turn and hold, and nothing... I wonder if I need to have the remote near by for that to work? I wounldn't think that I would need the remote but... Anyone know if there's a master control box for the autolock somewhere? Some fuse I'm not finding?

C'mon anyone got anything? Give me something to check something to look at. I really don't want to have to take it to a dealer. Do you think a local shop would be able to fix something like this?????

Tried the passenger door and all the doors lock and unlock, try the driver door just driver door locks and unlocks. Could it be that I have a bad servo motor in the door, or something else. When I hit the lock/unlock butoon inside all the doors lock and unlock so... Anyone got any ideas.

Just dont let anyone ride in the other seats (yupnope)
That way you will have no need to unlock those doors.
Less weight=fastness....which we all need with stock p5s.

I'm coming from a 1994 ford Probe base 2.0 5spd with headers, cat-back, CAI, Plugs, 8.5 wires, shirt Shifter, KYB GR2 shocks, sprint sprint, front and rear strut tower bars, and 17mm rear sway bar and the New P5 beats it hands down. It's fast enough for me right now but image what could happen when I'm done moding it to the same level....
I just need to get the P5 power doors working. Please someone help me???

So, I had to take the door panel off and pull down the clear plastic inside (I hate that black stuff they use) and take a close look at the electrical setup in there. I cleen the connection that connects the lock cyclinder to the door switch, and that did nothing new. As I was futsing with it I got it to work some times. So I removed the whole door handle and cyclinder from the door. What I found was that on the back of the lock cyclinder is a switch that snaps into place and has a little cut out to meet up with a keyed post on the back of the lock. When you turn the key it's suppose to activate the switch. Mine wasn't working right. When I pressed down on the device it worked just fie but when I let it go, nothing. I figured that there must be something to do with the pressure on it so... I took masking tape (yes I fixed my locks with masking tape) and placed a tiny little peice inside the switch where the post from the lock goes in. I cut it carefully to fit the shape and pressed it in with a tweezers. When I put it all back together the part clipped on much tighter and Wham, working auto door lock on the passenger side.
