Hi there....

I have a 02 protege5 so I see the engine light on. So I bought at Innova 3030 (OBD2) (drinks)reader from c tire. And I only get a message of ERROR ! Hmmm

Not sure why, so I am using the block under the dash to plug in the reader,
is there any other place where i can plug in or any ideas why I am getting the Error message on the OBD2 reader????

thanks

Check for Batt + on pin 16 and ground on pins 4 & 5. I think the comm line is pin 7, so if your power and ground check good, set your meter on min/max and go from pin 7 to ground. If voltage changes, the PCM is doing something, may be the tool...

FYI, the cig lighter fuse controls the power feed at the DLC on 75% of OBD cars, i find lots of "no comm's" are from pennies and dimes shoved in cigarette lighters popping fuses.
