oh chit. this is i think a very sought after wheel and now you can get in a size that wont require extreme fender rolling and coilovers. this is awesome news.

have you tried a taller/wider tire with this setup? something a little closer to the stock tire diameter. (245/40/18 maybe). ...and what other colors do you have available?

thanks!

one more question would 18x9 be to much for the ms3
is it going to rub?
do i need coilover

If you mean compared to 215/45 18 (Stock MS3 and MS6)... then 235/40 18 would be what you're thinking of (and what I'd love to get to fit without a major fender roll).

DougM

a 245/40/18 is the closest to stock height (.1" taller). The 235/40/18 is .2" shorter. but, i'm also autocrossing the car and trying to fit as much meat under it as possible... so, if it could fit (major roll or otherwise), the 245/40/18 is what I'm thinking.

We have not tested this unfortunately...it is pretty close on the inside so I'm not sure it would work with a wider tire.

Coilovers suggested, negative camber, and a fender roll.

How about a 255.35.18?

I know it's a bit shorter, but that would probably be a easier fit than the 245....I hate 245.40.18 because it's so tall, it causes a lot of issues when the car is lowered AND is running an aggressive setup.

I thought about this a bit... I could be talked into that for sure. Have you had any customers fit this on a MS3? or do you have the means by which to test fit this combo? 18x8.5+48~ w/ 255/35/18 Dunlop Z1's...

I haven't tested it and we dont have the means to do it, just throwing some alternate options out there for you

yup, you should be fine

that tire would stretch a good amount, but it would work.

So can you be lowered an inch and have these wheels with say 225/45/18 tires and not rub?

hey Zoeb, I'm going to give you guys a call tomorrow about these in Hyper silver (or plain silver if you have them?) + the Dunlop Z1's (or Kumho XS?).... looking for 235/40's so let's chat about fitment, availability and whatnot.

thanks!

with a 225.45.18 it would be tough

We did a 225.40.18 and it was close but didn't rub

Hi Zoeb, I spoke to you on the phone earlier. What colors do you have available or have in route in this style/size (18x8.5+48)? could possibly swing the 18x8 as well.

let me know, thanks!
(I might be able to talk the wife into something other than silver :) )

Ah. I see.

For a MS6 (which I have) good luck getting those to fit with ET48 wheels. The few people that I have see get them on have ET50 or higher wheels and it still required a major roll and/or cutting.

seemed like the safer choice :)

How's the inner tire/wheel strut clearance and can you reiterate which/what suspension? (sorry if I missed that info).

That's a great shot from that angle! I love how the 18x8.5 give it a fuller look without looking cartoonishly aggressive, sticking way out which seeems to be the trend now.

thanks, yeah, that offset seems best imho (+48). I'm currently running the stock suspension with zero rubbing (I rolled my rear fenders but I might not of needed to at this point). the Dunlops run very wide as well so their 235/40/18 is probably comparable to other tires' 245+

Strut clearance in the rear is not an issue, I suspect once I get my coilovers (lowering some) there might be inner-fender clearance issues and maybe some rubbing on the bumper bit (plastic lip) where it joins with the metal fender, this is where the +48 is required, anything much less would need a lot more fender work. At the front it seems like there is plenty of fender clearance but the tires are sitting about 3 or 4mm from the brake-line bracket and about that distance from the strut body (a lower offset/staggered setup would help that). so, there's a chance that I might need to run a small spacer in the front to clear an aftermarket strut/coilover... so about a +43 offset I'd wager to guess... we'll see though.

anyone know how thick of a spacer you can run safely on the stock studs?

I'll try and go measure the tire width later, that'd probably helpful to some :) see if it jives with what Dunlop/Tirerack claim.

I'll try and go measure the tire width later, that'd probably helpful to some :) see if it jives with what Dunlop/Tirerack claim. I measured them to be about 9.75" wide, total tire. tread width is slightly less but the sidewall width is about 9.75". this is on a 235/40/18 on a 18.5" wheel.

Hey WheelDude, I'm actually debating on getting these in 18x9 +30 in that Dark Gunmetal (Or the Hyper Black looks good) or the real Advan RS..Thing is I heard these weigh 21lb where as the Advans weigh only 17 lb... Any light to this story? To be honest if these wheels weigh a lot less than 21 lb, you'll have a PM in your box.. :)

Hey What kind of wheel and tire combo price can you get together for me, in 225/40/18, If it's a cheap enough deal i may just have to buy a set, i am in the market for new wheels as we speak and those ones look sick.

New to getting tires/rims for cars...learning

It might of been said earlier, but making sure. So these 18x8.5 fit the stock tires (215/45/18)? Also, require no fender rolling?
And if I drop my car on some Mazdaspeed springs in the future, what must I do then?
