Well fellas if any of you have been following the bad luck of my MS6 over the past few weeks you know that the clutch was pulsating shortly after an accident. After going to Mazda to ensure it was a flywheel/clutch problem and being told that it definitley was, even though i asked specificaly to make sure its not a tweaked rod/crankshaft issue. Well yesterday after noon on my way to the bodyshop, about 35mph in 3rd gear, NO BOOST at all, POP clack clack, and a puff of smoke as the rod#3 busted through the back of the block. It's now back at mazda waiting for them to contact their techline to get approval for eninge replacement. We shall see.

rod #3 = cylinder with balance shaft. the balance shafting being made out of steel and the block out of aluminum doesn't like to move much, and see as how you were in an accident it probably bent that rod.

removal of balance shaft for the win! sorry about you luck, i hope you can hold it against your dealer since you told them what it was.

any mods on the car?

Well I did not hear from the dealer yet, since i got the "we are calling techline and going from there for a motor" So no news is good news. Yes i have/had mods on it. At the peak i had Fujita CAI, Type-s bpv, 3in catless DP, PG v2 tubular manifold, and NGK -1 plugs. But when i took it to the dealer last week i yanked the BPV and CAI just to avoid any issues and never put it back on. So as it sits now is DP and Mani. Only 25k on the car. Just had the turbo replaced @ 18k, Had a p/s pump, driveshaft, and intermediate steering shaft replaced at about 16k.

Uh oh...the dealer's not gonna like the DP and Manifold AT ALL. Good luck. I hope all goes well.

yeah but he has the fact that he told them to check the engine from the accident going for him and since they said it wasn't the problem it should be on them now. if they do turn you down i would call mazda NA and tell them.

Yea my service advosor already told me that he's really sorry that they messed up, and if it were up to him they would have ordered a block that night. But even if mazda denies it, i already had the insurance claim in with the clutch pulsation concern and it was left as an open item, i spoke with my adjuster and he said try the warranty first, then if they don't want to mess with it he would cover it and i'm just out my deductable.

Well guys tommorow is the big day, Mazda Rep is coming to deny, i mean look at my car. lol. I am keeping a negative outlook so i will no be disapointed (pissed). On another bad note my buddy with the Evo8 snapped his LF axle today. That Shitsubishi has been downhill for a while now, first brakes, then rear bumper damage, then getting keyed multiple times, then a clutch, and now this.

Wishing you the best man. Let us know how this pans out, and also make sure you fight if you have to to try and get this covered if they do decide to deny you.

hope they warrant it. as for the evo, i was talking with a tuner this weekend and he said the only strong part about that car is the engine. he said clutch usually goes pretty quickly as well as transmission and axles.

Denied Denied Denied, well as i figured they weren't to happy with the mods, and denied it, i made sure to make a complaint with mazda na and let them know that i was in there the week b4 asking them to diagnose the issue ie:a compression test. But my insurance guy already had it picked up and brought to his engine shop for diag and most likely a replacement.

AKA "Knew you were dealing with a Mazda dealership." I have NEVER NEVER NEVER experienced so much grief as I have with Mazda service writers. Several of my friends had BRAND NEW trannys dropped in their SRT4's even with Big turbo's and piggybacks STILL ON THE CAR.

I hope all goes well for you though man. It'd be a shame to see another MS6 screwed. (flame2) (Just another reason why I'm selling my car)

Face it, Mazda doesn't like warranty work. Such a shame to turn people away from their cars, especially since they make quite a few of the remaining 'driver oriented' cars out there.

Threads like this make me rethink my overall plans for modding the car. Such a shame...

Glad to hear you're getting everything taken care of.

LOL that is exactly what i told him, i promised him red lobster when this is all said and done. Gieco will definitely be getting an appreciation letter praising his work and customer service. (yes)

As far as mazda goes, as soon as they found out that they wouldn't get to do the job they got all pissy and were even gunna try and make me pay for the week with the rental car. Ha too bad i work for National/alamo/enterprise and got hook ups. How do you like the 421$ bill bitches at Duval Mazda??

Yea Duval told mazda na that i never mentioned checking the engine when i came in for the clutch puclsation. i said "yea thats is i drove 60 fucking miles for them to tell me i had a clutch problem and not ask anything else??" I made it very clear to Mazda na that i'm not some dumbfuck that just threw parts at my car and complained about it,i'm an ASE Certified Master Technician. I know WTF i'm doing and don't try and play me. The guy had diddly to say back. He knew they were in the wrong, i told them to be expecting a call from my lawyer in the very near future. lol.

Well i got my car back on friday, i've been working a sh*t ton ofhours and haven't had time to post lately, runnig great, bodywork and paint are dead on, I have filed a formal complaint on Duval Mazda with the Better Business Bureau. I'm Going to start to de-mod my car and park it until the 36 month lease is up and get rid of the pos. I've got better things to dump my money into rather than a lemon, looking at houses right now cause the market is the shiz for buyers. Plus my old beater of 97 Jimmy is handlin the work just fine. So if anyone is in the market for any of the following i will be posting a FS in the near future: Protege Garage Tubular manifold, SpeedAction Motorsports Cat-less 3in stainless DP with o2sensor cheat, Fujita Cai with injen Hydroshield, Knockoff ebay type-s bpv.

Just start a FS thread and you should have no trouble selling that stuff.
