Im interested in the CX9. I guess the only way I can get HID and fogs is to go with the GT. I'm not much on the wood trim in the GT. Is there any way to get a Touring and be able to purchase a fog light kit from Mazda and add them to the Touring model? I'd be able to live without the HID lights. I've even thought about the possibility of getting a GT and somehow purchasing Touring trim and install it in the GT.

I believe you can add the fog lights from Mazda via the kit they sell. I have the installation instructions from Mazda, so I suspect it's a DIY project.

It's a hugely complex installation, because you have to install the wiring harness all through the front of the car, and replace the Turn Signal Stalk. I'd get the wood (not my favorite) before I attempted adding the fog lights.

Yeah, I was wondering how involved it would be to install them. I really don't like the wood. I wish there was a dealership near me that had one, so I could get a better idea of how much wood there is. Thanks for the help.

There is actually very little woodgrain in the CX9. Just the four arcing strips on the dash and doors that are piano black on the other trims. It's not nearly as prevalent as other cars with wood.

It really doesn't look as bad as I thought it was going to. Thanks for the pic.(thumb)

I may be a little biased, but I actually like "wood" trim, when it's not obnoxious. There were quite a few other cars out there that went nuts with the "wood" trim, but like he said, it's pretty understated.

I love the piano black, which is one reason we bought a sport, but you're right, the wood on the CX9 isn't that bad. I think the Sand interior, with the different tones and finishes is actually pretty nice.

Go look at a Cayenne interior. U G L Y
