Some indian dude rammed my rear (no... this wasnt a Village People video). After swearing profusely I got out and checked the back of my car. My liscence plate was bent up pretty good and scratched, but the rest of the bumer looked like nothing happened to it. The plastic was unscratched, the paint had no marks in it, none of the reflectors were damaged. My tailgate opens and shuts no problem and all my body panels are aligned properly. My dog was like WTF, but other than that and my plate, everything was just ducky.
His 05 Focus... Cracked front bumper cover, bent hood, cracked grill. The guy wanted nothing to do with police or anything. If he changes his mind he has my license plate number embedded in his front bumper, lol.
No injuries and the car still drives and looks mint.

hmmmm....normally thats queue for calling the police..
hopefully you got his insurance info, I'd still have your car checked out completely by a reputable shop.

i would still have it looked at.. damage can be hidden pretty easily with today's flexible bumbers...

Yeah, I was pretty active at first, but I pretty much stopped caring about cars. After dumping 20K into a car to make it just as fast as whats coming out now, there's no point. LOL. I still lurk on the boards occasionally but not often anymore. Gettin old.
As for insurance, my cars fine. We were going slow enough where it wasnt a problem, I didnt see it coming and I never had that adrenaline rush that would normally hide injuries so I just wasnt concerned about it. I've torn down enough cars in my time to know when somethings f'd up and mines fine. 15 MPH bumpers ftw. Calling the cops would have just wasted my time and put another not at fault accident on my record that I dont need. If he wanted to pay for all that damage himself (4000 dollars worth if I had to estimate), then by all means let him. It'll teach him to wake the fuck up while driving.

have you checked the bumper support? it may be cracked....on one of my previous cars, i "bumped" into someones rear bumper and although no damage was done to my car, the bumper support was cracked and so was one of my headlight brackets.

I took a similar hit in my MS3. The only fatality was the license plate frame.
