COBB AccessTUNER Pro for MAZDASPEED3 & MAZDASPEED6

First tuning software to customize OEM ECU caibrations for the MAZDASPEED3 & MAZDASPEED6

COBB Tuning announces the release of AccessTUNER Pro v1.7 for the MAZDASPEED3 and MAZDASPEED6. This release marks the world's first publicly available tuning software to create custom ECU calibrations for the MAZDASPEED3 & 6. Using AccessTUNER Pro V1.7, professional engine tuners can configure the ECU to extract the maximum power made available by performance modifications. Whether it's an intake, exhaust, turbo, cams or any combination of performance modifications, AccessTUNER v1.7 gives professional engine tuners the ability to create a custom calibration for a specific combination of modifications. The calibration is then flashed to the ECU via the AccessPORT handheld ECU flashing device, providing impressive power gains with all of the drive-ability and sophisticated control inherent in the OEM ECU.

AccessTUNER Pro puts control of vital engine parameters in the hands of the professional engine tuner, such as boost, fuel, ignition, closed loop, idle, RPM and speed limiters, load, throttle, sensor calibration and variable valve timing. Customizable data monitors let the tuner choose which channels to monitor and use them to see how changes impact the behavior of the engine. The built-in datalogging capability captures data from these monitors so the tuner can review engine performance through the entire rev-range. 3-D graphical mapping gives the tuner a comprehensive view of engine behavior across three axes to evaluate where performance can be maximized.

AccessTUNER Pro v1.7 is supported on Windows XP and Windows Vista 32-bit operating systems. The USDM 2007-2009 MAZDASPEED3 and 2006-2007 MAZDASPEED6 (both Federal and California models) are supported in this software release.

For more information on how to join the COBB Pro Tuner network and become one of the world's first professional engine tuners of the MAZDASPEED3 and MAZDASPEED6, please contact COBB Tuning Sales at (801) 713-0443 or wholesale@cobbtuning.com.

Oh and just to add some more info. ATR won't be released until Sept. 23rd 2009. Obviously, a business decision. No shop would pay for the pro version if free ATR was right around the corner. Less people would also go to the tuners as well if end user tuning was available right away. A little dissapointing, but not that bad if u have a good protuner nearby.

So does this mean if you already have an accessport you can take it to a tuner and get a professional tune done? IF so is there a list of tuners that have access tuner pro already ..I plan on going to Top Speed of Atlanta ( I have heard a lot of good things from some STI owners who take their car w/ acessports there)

i want to get a cobb access port but the only problem is i have a hks intake, turbo xs bov, and hks cat back. I was looking on their web site but there are no maps for my mods so i called and the tech,he told me i would have to return it to stock or send in the port with a list of my current mods and they can mod it, but he sd it would take a few times of sending the port back and forth. Im wondering if i should just wait for the protuner that way i can take it to tuning shop and have it tuned their. What do you guys think.

That's what this post is, letting everybody know it's out now. If you want the AP and a custom tune get on it.

Before now no... If they have ATP it was for another vehicle. AFAIK ATP is a program specific to each car make... Like ATP for STi/WRX and ATP for MS3. That doesn't matter now as it is out for our car now.

You can set up an appt with Andy at Verocious Motorsports. He did a great job of protuning my WRX. A protune is definitely worth the money IF you get all the mods you think you're going to want. If you think you'll be sticking with your current mods and want the best possible tune to match those mods, go get professionally tuned. If not, just either stay stock ECU until you get to that point or try a stage 1+ SRI map. That should be OK with your mods.

wait for this, you could make a map for what ever mod setup you have. now that you can make custom maps

ATR is about 90 days out or so. its been said it won't be out til september but this is going to change. it was merily said that because tuners wanted the software exclusively but as you all know that won't fly for us wanting to do it ourselves.

I was at a meet at Surgeline Tuning last night, one of/the owner Tim is apparently the guy who helped COBB do a lot of their map work for the Speeds and we talked about the new stuff coming from COBB as well as going over the capabilities of the the AP units. I am impressed and even more motivated to get my car/AP tuned finaly.

even then i think he missed the nail im sure he is reffering to Haltech the owner of mazda speed forums .org thats my guess.

when the AP came out he was working with cobb tunners and helping with the beata tunes and the full throttle part of it and helping to make some tunes for some of the non standard parts before cobb released there parts. him and a lot of otheres were at stage 2 + fmic well before cobb relased any of those parts.

I only use that forum beacuse there is a better supply of technicle info and there are more people out on the edge of modifications over there. i didnt get to into the forum when it was first starting out beacuse some of the cheerleaders and people that really pissed me off on this forum were the moderators on the other forum.

Took me awhile but I finally found more information on Cobb's "retreat" on the Cobb tuning forums. It looks as though Gary has apologized today and decided to go forward with no lift shift and some other features he initially said they would no longer include. I would add a link but I believe it is ferboten here.

I put up an earlier post that disappeared. In that post I speculated mostly that they were pulling out of the Mazda market for strictly business reasons but had I read more of the OP regarding it I would have known better.

Strange business decisions going on at Cobb but things look a bit brighter now.

By the way, I didn't see anything in the M6 section, just so you know I checked before posting here.

I love how mods on these forums will just delete your post for no DAMN reason. I didnt verbally harass anyone. I was just informing Cobb hopefuls of the 650$ paperweight they bought. So go cry some more and delete this too if youd like. I am always civil on here and theres no justification for this blatent abuse of " mod " power. better yet, waste of man power in your uber modding skills

Forum nazis around here.

We cant even have a civil conversation around here anymore without some dork on a power trip making it "his" conversation. Whats next......all other car makes and models shall be crushed to make our superior race of mazda vehicles....................(321fu)

How the F does Cobb's decision to stop future development of future products for our cars make the AP a paperweight? The AP is already done and in a few weeks the AP protune software will be released.
