i have experience with these on a different model.

i found the one's that went in the shifter base did nothing. yeah they were much stiffer but made no difference in shift feel.

i also changed the shifter linkage bushings later. the ones in the engine compartment above the tranny. and those made a huge difference. a far more solid engagement "feel" is how i'd descibe it. i wish they made something like that for our cars. i'd buy those again in heartbeat.

if its shift feel you wanna improve. consider a weighted shift knob. not exactly cheap but well worth it.

i have a twm knob, weighs just over a pound. sits a tad lower than stock and really helped reduce shifting effort. well over the light stock knob.

This is my first mod, just installed the other day. They corrected my shifter allignment and made the shifting a little more precise. The base was not quite alligned correctly becasue the stock bushings and rubber inserts allowed the base to be slightly off center. It's worth the $35 IMO.

IMO it is worth it. I have them with my Stage 1 TWM SS. Gives it a nice feel to me. Just my 2 cents.

im going to be ordering it in 2 weeks or so but im trying to figure this out...

should i just get the spacers or the bushings plus stage 1 or 2 shifter.

because theres a lot of people that say "oh stage 1/2 is amazing and its a must for our cars" but then theres others that say " spacers make just the same amount of difference as the short shifter " so thats what im trying to figure out if i should get the whole set or just the spacers.

what do you guys think?

i had the bushins and ss on my ms3 and loved it
made the shifting a billions times crisper.. i kno its a different part from ms3 to ms6 but ill defin be ordering the stage 2 plus bushings for the ms6

With just the bushings I couldnt tell much of a difference. Now Stage 2+Bushings and love it. Although my car doesnt like going into 1st or 2nd since I had the clutch replaced. Linkage is all out of wack.

if u can get someone else to help to its pretty easy.. u have to push in some tabs and then put paper clips in to hold them down while u push al the other ones lol

I think it was an easy straight forward install. Honestly the hardest thing is removing the the pin and putting it back in. Took me a little over an hour to do. Desert Eagle shift knob is great too. Just not in the winter time cuz its like grabbbing a piece of ice.

I had the Kartboy linkage bushings on my Protege, and those were great. The base bushings do make a difference, but only with an upgraded shifter. TWM Stage 2 w/ bushings here. I still somehow manage to miss 3rd from time to time in mine. With the shifter/bushings, this is how the car should have came.

Quick question on the solid spacers, I had trouble getting to the bushing under the shifter cable. Just wondering how of you guys got it out the way?

i would suggest disconnecting the cables and just completely remove the whole assembley and do it outside the car.

use a flat head screw driver. they'll pop right off.

i used duct tape to hold the rears spacers in place to the assembly.. poked a hole on top, fed the bolts though, then pulled tape out.. it helped..

i have the STEEDA one's in my 6. think it was the very 1st mod i did actually. did make a difference. but my stock shifter assembly also moved everywhere. lol. been installed for over 3 years now without issues.
