When I check the stick when it's cold it reads a quart low, but after wiping the stick and rechecking it is right on full. After I've been driving it reads at the full line. Does anyone know why? Could this be an oil/gas separation issue? The oil has about 2K on it.

Interesting... I have the same issue. Did need to add about 1/2 quart today after 2500 miles. Curious to know what the measurement issue is.

If your referring to oil..you are supposed to check when cold....Oil get thrown up onto the stick when running and I am not sure...but I am sure the oil Expands from heat as well which would give you a false reading.

YOur level is to be measured when its been off and drained down....Best to check before driving for the first time in any day.

i thought the general rule was to run the car for at least 5 minutes, then shut off and wait about 5 minutes.

Warm up car to normal operating temp. Turn car off and let it sit for a few min. Check oil levels and adj level accordingly....

Yes, but my question is why when cold does it show a quart low initially and with a second dip show full?
