93 Protege Hold Light Flashing

Hey im new to this forum but i was driving my car yesterday and out of no where my speedometer stoped working and my hold light started flashing. I pulled over to see what was wronge but i dont know much about cars and im still getting to know this car i love it doesnt have many miles on it and its my first car. Please is there anyone that can help me figure this out?

check your grounds maybe one is rusted or broken

i was reading online about i and some people are saying that it might be my speedometer cable or a solenoid

I can drive the car its just feel weird an it doesnt shift right, but i dont know if its safe to keep driving it so i stoped i just would like to now what could be wronge with it so i dont have to be over charged with something thats ot really wronge

Usually when that light is flashing thats a trans code, look up how to pull them, usually you make the light flash and count the flashes and then look it up.
