4 tickets lifetime. (37 years old) All in/around Tampa, FL suburbs unless noted:

1- 1988, speeding, 53 in a 35. Busted. (1973 Chevy Malibu Chevelle)
1a- 1989, stopped for running stop sign. Bogus & the cop knew it, let me go. (same Chevelle)
2- 1992-93, speeding, 72 in a 55. Lame, but busted, JAX sucks. (1990 Isuzu 4WD Pickup)
2a- 1999, stopped for speeding, 60 in a 45 (I thought it was 55). Got a warning! (built 1990 Supra Turbo)
3- 2002, running red light. BOGUS, never happened, but cheaper & easier to take the class. (2001 VW Golf GLS 1.8 Turbo)
4- 2008, August 22, speeding. Ironically, the one spot in a 3k+ mile road trip where I turned off cruise & gunned it to help unsnarl interstate traffic in SC. I topped out at 105-110mph, cop clocked me at 84mph, wrote me for 79mph in 70mph zone, which saved me $140 in extra fines. (Total $81.50) Figured since I was ticketed for 25-30mph less than actual top speed, that was a gift & paid it. Helluva way to start a vacation, though. (2005 MINI Cooper S, many mods)

Got the Speed3 on September 24 of 2008. Hoping my record of only getting pulled over once every few years will hold up & maybe the Speed3 will never suffer that indignity.

ouch! that ranks as 1 of the all-time horror stories. what the hell didya do to piss him off so bad that he went postal on you?

and to the OP: 7 tix is probably 5 too many...as the official old fart of the board [pushing 49] i'm glad to say i've had 4 tix in 33 yrs of driving. the last one being a 90+ mph w/ a BMW 850 on the FL turnpike one early sunday morning. i don't know why the trooper didn't believe me when i told him i was under strict orders from the mechanic to "take her out and blow the carbon out"...(naughty)

You've gotten seven tickets in the Speed3 alone? I'm assuming some of those court cases are still pending. How many points do you have? You realize at some point they will take your license.

I have a fair number of tickets myself, but those were acquired over several years of speeding, none of them in the MS3 though.

I am almost 23 and I've only had one. It was keeping up with the flow of traffic, but I had a highly modified eclipse convertable, so of course I got profiled and picked out of a crowd. That sucked. But I took DIP class and that's that. I don't act like an idiot in my car.

Got one in my civic about nine years go, I was clipping at 150km/h (94mph) from one city to another because I had some annoying guy in my car and I just wanted to get rid of him.

Then last year (speed3) in the fall I was stuck behind a douchebag in some farm truck going 10 and holding up traffic, so as soon as he turned off I hit the boost to let off some steam, and there was a traffic cop in the other lane. I got the cherries flashed at me but she was stuck in traffic too and couldn't turn around. I don't know if it was a warning or if she was going to give chase, but I didn't stick around to find out!

I bet nobody thought twice about the guy actually holding up traffic and causing the problems.

I've gotten a lot of tickets when I was younger. Everything from reckless driving to speeding, to breaking traction, accelerating to fast from a stop, you name it. I'm not pround of any of them and they were all a waste of money, a lot of money. I'm more grown up now so I haven't had any in a while but I do know that if you ever try to do any jobs on a Federal level all those tickets will definitely come back to bite you in your ass.

With the MS3 I did get 3 tickets. One failure to yield making a right turn at a red light. One for doing 92 in a 70 in North Carolina, and got arrested because I was supposedly doing 82 in a 70 in South Carolina. Cop said he clocked me off his Mustang speedo, I told him that Mustangs are pieces of shit and his speedo isn't an accurate way of handing out tickets. BAD IDEA! LoL. I was out of the slammer in a few hours, everything was dropped.

I have gotten any in the speed...yet. But I'm due, I've gone over 120 twice.

I've gotten two speeding and one stop sign in 9 years of driving. My first ticket was in 2002, I was 17, and going about 105+ in a 70. The cop was nice and put 90 on the ticket.

ha. one of those three times i got a ticket in the Speed was due to me racing a cop ha.

he was in a unmarked stang gt. i was just cruising. in the far right lane of a 3 lane hwy. he was in the far left. so i hear him down shift and come over to my lane behind me. he gets on my ass, so i down shift to 3rd thinking "the Speed aint worried about a stang" and take her up to 80 as he punches it then turns on his lights.

i was lucky he was cool since i was doing 30 over, that would have been a automatic $1000 ticket. i was honest with him. he laughed and told me he would just ticket me for my license not showing the address where i currently live so he slapped me with a fat $70 none moving violation.

woo hoo

Man you guys are lucky...must be the area, please mark Broward County in Florida and never come around here...101 on a 65, punk towed my car and wrote down Racing on highway (when there was no other car), mandatory court appearance, "luckily" i was able to walk home..was later reduced to Reckless Driving...must have spent like $1400 between lawyer, court fees and the mandatory schooling and all the crap they made me do.

104 on a 70, cop just wrote me up for speeding, said german cars suck. (Was driving an A6). Cost me like $500, stupid lawyers in small counties know theres only a few in town and OVERCHARGE like no tomorrow.

Those are the only 2 tickets on my record but none were on the speed.

On the speed, 1 week after i got it, 1 speeding 65 on a 50 and a seatbelt, but my lawyer fought those and we won, ended up paying court fees, $315 for both, ouch.

Conclusion, FLORIDA SUCKS.

Wow, some of you people need to slow the fuck down. There's no reason to EVER hit 100+ on a public road and I don't give a flying fuck how "abandoned" the road is. I'm 23 and I've had four total tickets, two moving violations, two non-moving:

2003: 70 in a 55 in my '86 Toyota Pickup. I was young, stupid and not paying attention to my speed. It was deserved.
2007: Following too closely in m P5 (rear-ended an Acura TSX in traffic)
2007: Illegal tint and exaust on my P5 (pulled over at 11 PM at night)

Nothing remarkable...

This is Florida my friend, if your doing the speed limit on these looong straight roads you will just end up in the water from falling asleep...And plus you yourself have said it, when your going slow and not paying attention you rear end Acuras, just busting your balls but most people that crash are doing the speed limit and not paying attention, or just doing REALLY supid ass things in traffic + speed.

i've run 100+ MANY, MANY times on the back roads around texas. i don't understand your great concern. but then again, some of the other things i've done to get speed jollies would probably blow your mind.

sure, there is no reason for it... it's just FUN.

my worst year ever for tickets was the one i built my first chevy luv with a V8... i ran without the hood on it sometimes (yeah...i know)... it looked good but that thing was a ticket sponge. i think i was 21...

i got 13 tickets in 12 months, (granted, two of them were my nova)... in, and around the houston area for things as varied as speeding, exhibition of speed (that was a dumb one), tags or inspection expired, loud stereo...

i thought i was on the black list or something.. i didn't drive all that crazy or fast (well except for the burnout one... i totally deserved that one)... but that thing really stuck out, and with the duals and flowmasters, it was loud.. and it was a never fail thing... if a cop saw me, and could get behind me, i was getting pulled over...

i did manage to get(weasel) out of almost all of them... either hustling to get current, or working the system to get out of it... back then if the LEO didn't show up, you got out of the citation....

a lawyer took care of one for me... but that burnout one... i had to pay that one.. it just didn't feel right trying to fight that one... :)

In the last 35 years I have seen the lights a couple times, wink,
one of the main reasons I got my ms3 was getting pulled for crap reasons by HCSO and temple terrace over crap like dim licsence plate lights in my old car, a highly modified corolla. I guess they enjoy fucking with ricers more than rednecks with 38inch high bumper death trucks the puzzled look from the LEO when they realize i'm 50 is nice but they still write

second day I had the MS3 I was at a light and a LEO pulled up next to me, he looked ahead, checked his computer, looked ahead, fiddled with his radio, looked ahead and rolled out when the light changed. NEVER EVEN LOOKED AT ME !!!!

I'm lovin it

Get a $399 Valentine One for radar/laser detection.

Get a $700 Laser Interceptor laser jammer to jam all laser guns used in the U.S. almost 100% of the time.

If you spend about $1100 up front for protection and you don't drive so badly that people call in to report you, you will be ticket free for many years. All of that money you spent up front will pay for itself in lower insurance rates, less time spent in court, less money spent on lawyers, less money spent in driving classes, etc.

Let's see...a ton when I was a kid (early 90's)...

Speeding on the highway going to work (personal truck)...76 in a 65 I believe...2000

Speeding on a rural Rt on the way to work (company van)...61 in a 55...2007

Hit a car while trying to parallel park, I called the cops and they gave me a ticket for "Illegal lane usage" (company van)...summer 2008

Made a U-turn on the highway along with 7 others while trying to avoid a wreck site up ahead. State cop pulled all of us over by setting up a "road block" 2 miles up the road. Gave each one of us a ticket and 6 warnings:

Ticket- "going wrong way on a one way street" (no, not making this one up)

Warning 1- Going slower than 45 on a public highway southbound

Warning 2- driving in the left lane for use other than passing southbound (this is a Il law now)

Warning 3- Crossing the yellow line to pull into the "authorized use only" U-turn area from southbound

Warning 4- Crossing the yellow line to pull out of the "authorized use only" U-turn area into northbound

Warning 5- driving in the left lane for use other than passing on the other side of the highway northbound

Warning 6- Going slower than 45 on a public highway northbound

He gave all of us these tickets...it took close to two hours to get mine as I was last in line.

I fucking hate cops...power trip motherfuckers. Especially state cops. Funny enough, for all of the shit I've pulled in my personal cars, I get busted for that stupid shit.

I've been pulled over twice, but received 4 tickets total.

1st time: - Speeding 77km in a 50km (school zone too, eek!)
- Driving without insurance, or registration (I was stupid and left the paperwork at home)

2nd time: Speeding 70km in a 50km (school zone haha)

Worst part is...I got the tickets in the same place, on the same street (6 months apart).

Ford Probe GT (KLZE Turbo @ 315hp)
--4 Speeding Tickets
--1 Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
--1 Failure to control motor vehicle (resulted in death of turbo KLZE)

Mercury Cougar v6 Turbo (SVT Contour Motor @ 395hp)
--6 Speeding Tickets
--2 Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle (146mph in a 65mph zone and a 117mph in a 70mph zone) Usually these are go directly to jail speeding tickets, but both times the ticketing officer didnt feel like hauling multiple people over 20 miles to jail so instead of speeding tickets he gave Reck op which is automatic show up for court

--3 Driving without a license, i need SR22 Insurance in Ohio and cannot afford it...i'll take the slap on the wrist and 100 dollar fine and risk it...

I fucking hate cops...power trip motherfuckers. Especially state cops.

Nah man, they do serve a purpose, imagine if everyone would be wildin out without rules? Be total mess. Just make sure that when you do the crime you can pay the fine, although i agree going to jail for speeding or some of the stupid shit we do is a little bit harsh...

Oh wow man.

Yeah, some people have all the luck. I've been pulled over once in the last 10 years and that was recently for pushing a right turn as the signal changed right in front of a cop ... got a verbal warning. No tickets in that time either. Last ticket (not a moving violation anyway) was in 1992 or thereabouts for going straight from signal with right turn only. I think I've had only two speeding tickets ever.
So, no tickets in the speed3 in 2 years.

Some cops around here are starting to do this, they clock you, then just step right out into a 3 lane 45mph and they just tell you stop. One day their going to get their ass ran over im telling you (braindead

I understand and respect the purpose of having police but the power trip shit is absurd.

When I got my 61 in a 55 I was driving on a way-back country road and was passed by two other work vehicles going WAY over the speed limit (different company)...I later passed the state cop going my "61"...he immediately turned around and pulled me over. When he gave me the ticket he said "When you get to where you're going, better your buddies in the other van to slow it down, I didn't have my radar on when they passed me. They should consider themselves lucky."

He gave me a ticket because he was pissed at some other white work vans...real nice stuff.

last summer I was attempting to parallel park my work van (Ford E350) when I hit a parked car. I went into the building, got the owner and called to police. I wanted to make sure there was a report made and that she'd be taken care of (I couldn't care less about the van). When the cop got there, he questioned me on what happened, I was truthful and he went back to make the paperwork. When he came back he gave both of us the accident report and then handed me a ticket. I looked at it and asked him what it was for.

"There was damage to the vehicle, I have to issue a ticket."

I replied "no sir, I don't believe you have to."

"Well, if you don't like it, take it to court."

he walked off and left. The conversation was that brief...as if he was put-out by having to make an accident report or something.

I had a brief discussion with the owner of the other vehicle and even she said that bullshit. I was trying to do the right thing and he stuck it to me. He issued a ticket for "illegal lane usage". I went to court and tried to fight it but because it was on a city street and not in a parking lot, they upheld it saying it was up to the officer's discretion if he/she wanted to issue a ticket. I did ask if a ticket was mandatory which the reply was "No, it is up to the individual officer." I then got stuck with court costs.

I got a fucking moving violation when I was simply trying to take care of a lady and make sure my company repaired her vehicle. I never said a single cross word to the officer and I even called the cock sucker.

So I'll say it again....I fucking HATE cops. Most that I've come across think they're one step below God, they fail to realize it's a job...not some higher calling.

I understand what you are saying...I just want the respect I give to them returned. I rarely say a single cross word to a cop...I've learned that's a dumb idea. Mostly, like the 61 in a 55 or the parallel parking cop, are just cold and robotic. You just get a "License and proof of insurance, here's your ticket, drive safely" in a monotone voice...that asshole state cop with the ticket a 6 warnings was a condescending prick.

i've already chimed in w/ my tix total for the past 33 yrs, but since this thread has taken a turn for the 'most moronic cop / ticket' , i thought i'd share what i think was some of the craziest bs to ever befall an innocent man.

situation: a crowded parking lot. i'm in a 91 crx [very little car] and a big truck is parked to my R. i have to back out, and my R view is completely blocked. i inch the car out little by little, peek from behind the truck, see the coast is clear, look ahead and pull out. <BAM!> a minivan slams into my R side. now, since i had just looked behind me and saw that no one was coming, the only assumption to be made is: the minivan was hauling ass thru the parking lot, didn't see me backing out, and plows into me.

guy gets on his cell phone, refuses to come out and talk to me. i tap gently on the window to get him to roll it down & talk to me, guy ignores me and keeps jabbering. finally steps out, he's a brazilian journalist who resides in the States w/o papers. you'd think someone w/ this background wouldn't invite close scrutiny by the cops, but this guy actually called the hiway patrol [remember this is a parking lot]. waited 45 mins for the trooper to arrive, i get a ticket for 'improper maneuver.'

i say to the cop, 'look, i looked behind me & he wasn't there, and 3 secs later he ran into me, that can only mean he was speeding & wasn't looking." nope, the fault rests squarely on my shoulder.

long story short, i agreed to pay for the damage myself [$600] so it wouldn't be reported to my insurance. i still had to eat the 3 pts, pay the fine, and attend safety class to wipe clean the pts.

lesson learned: watch out for foreign drivers [esp brazilians] in a crowded parking lot. only thing is- how can you tell they're foreigners from a cursory glance??? therefore, the bottom line is- be aware of traffic in a parking lot. some idiots actually like to speed thru crowded ones...(nervous)

I haven't gotten any locally or in my home state, but I did get one on my way out to Colorado. Was doing about 90 through South Dakota on the interstate and got owned. His clock was 89 though so I avoided a larger fine.

All i knoow is that i cant stand the cops in ga all they do is pull people over for things that should be let go. One of my tickets was for my turning blinker being the wrong color. most cops would just give you a warning and let you change them as soon as you got home. seeing as i was right down the street at the gas station, thats what he should have done, but he was butt hole and wrote me a 75 dollar ticket so im with Smokehouse cops sucks. but mostly traffic cops. how do they go to bed at night knowing that they ruined someones day.

Just got my first in the MS3 yesterday. In Il. 73 in a 55 and only $75 bucks. I work in Il. and live in WI. If I got that in WI, it would have been $180 and 3 points easy. I don't think I have 3 points left. Where I got the ticket...I am not exaggerating, 1000 feet from the state line.

i have gotten pulled over on I-95 four times in the last 2 months for going 90-100 in a 55 in my MSP, cops only gave me a verbal warnings no tickets. They always say "you risk your life being a marine enough already, why risk it on the road?" so i guess i am lucky

You guys that get out of tickets make me sick lol, I have never been that lucky, I got a damn tint ticket while I was parked next to the road with my car over heating!!! My luck blows, most expensive speeding ticket was $725 for 69 in a 30 cheapest was $225 42 in a 35, there are quite a bit more in between, needless to say, I have a suspended license at the moment, purely my own fault and I take full responsibility for my actions, i'm just saying a break would have been nice you know!! :)
