I have a 09 MZ5 and I've noticed there are two plastic pins in the headliner located roughly between the second and third seat area. These do not appear to be only to hold the headliner in place. The pins have a center portion which pops out like a cooked turkey indicator and are very easy to remove. I also noticed the same type pins in the upper portion of the third window interior molding. I have searched the board but find no previous mention of them.

What is the purpose of these pins?

Are they for accessories available outside of North America?

Totally normal hold down clips. If the center portion of the clip is raised push it in to lock it so that your headliner doesn't fall off or sag.
