Those guard rails seem insanely high...

They are high for a reason. They are supposed to prevent rollovers, something that tends to be caused by the lower guardrails on NA highways. I'm not sure why there isn't an additional rail lower than the one in the photo to prevent the sort of crash you see in the photo, but I imagine the washboard you see behind the police officer in the photo was intended to prevent cars from sliding under the main rail like that. Guess it doesn't work too well when you are traveling "at a high rate of speed." Which on a Porsche could be upwards of 180mph.

Definitely sucks. No skid marks in any of the pics unless they are coming from a direction we can't see. I would imagine, looking at the pics and the way the car is wedged in, that he died pretty quick if not instantly. At least that is a good thing.
