I know the stock size of the 5 is 205-50-17's and I have seen in a couple of posts wherer folks are running 215-50-17's.
Has anyone run 225-45-17's? Nearly Identical in diameter, but a bit wider. Wondering if they would rub anywhere.
Thanks

The width of the OE wheels on the 5 are made for 205 tires. Running a wider 225 tire on this OE wheel will not make much of a visual difference. If width is what you want you're better off going with a wider rim and the 225 tire.
Regardless, I don't believe the 225 would rub...again because you're using the stock OE wheel you should be okay.

I amrunning 225 50R17 Michelin Pilot HX MXV4 on stock wheels, better grip, nicer supple ride and very little (if ever) rubbing. The only time I have gotten the tires to rub up front is turning all the way to lock while turning at an above normal speed in which I just let off a tiny bit and it stopped rubbing, and loaded up with 6 full sized adults (about 1200lbs) and going through a big dip at about 35-40 mph. Still...not enough rubbing to not offset the improvement in grip and ride comfort. Go with it bud!
