Last week monday after driving home from work i parked in my driveway and went inside to eat. After eating i went to the car, to leave for school. Turn Car on, and left headlight is dead. I say "fuck" out loud, and drive off to school.
Yesterday, i came home from work, went inside to eat. Then headed to the car to go shopping with my GF (Spring break, No school). Turn car on, No headlights at all. I say "WHAT THE FUCK" out loud and then leave for the mall.
High-beams still work on both lights. But i find it wierd that both died within one week. Should i check the Fuse, could this be a short somewhere.
I orderd some HID that will be here, sometime.
anyways, thanks.

I've had bulbs burn out within a couple of days of each other more than once before. Probably just coincidence, and a good reason to get the burned-out bulb replaced quickly.

um, i dont get it lol You ordered HIDs so you've already solved the problem....just sounds like both bulbs went...
whats the point in telling us you yelled something out loud? lol

I think it's something with the low beams on the MSP. I've had to replace the left headlight(low beam) at least 3 times in the past 1 1/2 years. I've heard of several other people having this problem too. There's a thread somewhere on here that I asked how to fix it, and all I got back was 'get HID's'.

It's the same reason I just installed HIDs a month ago.... 4 bulbs in 4 months... at that rate, i'd have paid for the HID kit just in burnt-out halogens before the year was up.
I attributed it to the vibrations from stiff motor mounts.

What HID kit did you get? I've been wanting a kit but I'm short on cash.

I got the 35W DDM kit that XenonExpert is selling for $100 shipped (check the GB section). My only gripe is that I had to re-pin the headlight connector, because the way it came wired I had to put the plug on backwards and turn on the high-beams to get the headlights to come on... lol But once I got that figured out, it's been working great.

hmmm how did you go about repining it? you mean you repinned the connecter on the HID kit that plugs into the stock bulb harness? how'd you go about that?

Yep, the plug that goes from the HID ballast to the stock headlight plug is just an off-the shelf 9003 connector like this:

The flat blade pins just clip into the plug, and with a small screwdriver, they can be popped back out of the plug, and reinserted in the desired configuration.

ah, good to know. I know on the H4 kit there are only 2 connecters on the HID kit correct? Where should be placed? Mind circling in the pic?

i also have this problem with the headlights...now im runnin around with high beams on because i have no headlights. hids on the way. (interesting note, i dont think my high beams hit "that" high because i have yet to have anyone flash their highs at me)
apparently its attributed to wattage or voltage or something, relays solve the problem...and so do hids apparently.

Yep, my kit only has two connectors. I honestly don't remember off-hand which locations I ended up using, but if I get a chance, I'll run outside and take a peek. Could also be my kit was a fluke, since I don't remember this issue coming up for anyone else...

well, I bought an Apexcone kit for my bro's Honda Civic and it does the same thing, so I'm guessing its the same issue lol

I was just curious if this was a sign of bigger problems, maybe short on the line or something.

I put my name on the list for the Techone Kit in the GB section:

Like I said, I have no idea if my kit was a fluke, or if other people have been running into this problem too. But given my experience, if you plug everything in and the HIDs don't fire up, that would be my first trouble-shooting step.

Although funny, your comment must be corrected. Cannucks are english speaking Canadians, so he would have written mechanic in that case. In fact, in French it is mecanicien, pretty far from the English spelling. French Canadians are refered to as Quebekers, or Habs fans if the are from Montreal, the best hockey city in the World, period. Now, No big pronounciation difference between mecanique and mecanic, but a big spelling difference.....but I must say, it does sound pretty girly with a que at the end....
Now, I would like to warn you that you comment has escalated to the higher instances of our country, our government has decided to invade the US......you should see all 12 soldiers crossing the border pretty soon......
