Okay as some of you know i rear-ended a mini van on Friday February 20th, 2009. my whole front end needs repainted and all i can think about is "there goes my resale value". however i feel like i was meant to keep my msp for as long as possible seeing how i could never afford to get rid of it now.
alright enough yapping. progressive told me that since they can't find the oem lip, that i can choose an aftermarket lip or aftermarket front bumper. i need your opinions on the buddy club 2 front bumper which has shots here:

or the oem front bumper with the aftermarket lip that is seen on most '03 speeds like this:

opinions please. i'm really leaning towards the bc2 front bumper.
The BC2 bumper screams 90s rice to me. I'd choose the stock bumper and an additional lip without a moment's hesitation.
But it's your car.

Dont ever get anything but urithane, if you kit a curb barley with a fiberglas bumper it will fuck it up. But urithane bends and flexes and it will probally just scratch the paint.

is it easy to get the body shop to paint it like this? i don't want to ask to much of them.

^^ To paint it like what? All the stock color?
You should be able to ask the body shop for whatever the hell you want! It's YOUR car, YOU should be the one happy -- it's the body shop's responsibility to see to that. That's why they're in business! :)

thanks for the help everybody. i'm gonna go with the urethane dgm lip, but i think i'll wait till after the body shop is done with my car and schedule a separate appointment. i'm still driving around without the bumper for about another week until i'm off school :(

just do it all at once, the insurance is giving you the option for the aftermarket lip, so take their money and buy it. Trust me it is better to do it all at once so the body shop can properly blend the new paint from the repairs with the old that is already on the car. it will cost too much to go back later, add the lip, paint and then blend again. dont wait

trust me, i know what im talking about i have been in seven accidents and i really know how they do the repairs and it is easier to do it all at once so the blending can be done properly

ya i have a silver msp and when i hit a racoon and had to get a new bumper and lip they tried to just pass it off on me by painting just the bumper. they tried 3 times before they agreed to blend the paint down the fenders and over the hood and the cheap asses tried to just paint the hood and not fix a couple rock chips so it looked horrible. all in all it took them 6 paints before i was happy. moral of the story is dont take the car back until youre happy and it blends perfectly even if you know the guy painting. they are working for you, remember that.

okay fine lol. it probably is a good idea to do it all at once. but the lip is still the last thing on the list to be ordered since it's aftermarket and i wasn't sure which one i wanted when i gave the body shop my estimate from progressive.
