Thanks. I think I'll be picking up a set of 225/45/18s for $78/ea or the 235/40/18s for $108/ea. I don't need tires right this instant, but for this price.
Edit. When I tried to order the 225s online, it said they were out, so I called. The guy said they were out in that size, but were expecting more in a couple weeks and I could order at that price, so $350 total for a set of kick ass tires. Original price, $232/ea. Nice.

Yeah I'm thinking of picking up a set of 235/40R18s as well. It's almost a crime not to at that price...

Will they fit on stock size rims? And will there be any rubbing? Cause that's a ridiculously good deal. Also, don't Extreme performance summers give up a little wet traction as well? Sorry for all the questions!

I have a set of Falken Azenis 615's I use for track days in that size (225/45). I have them on a set of 18" Momo rims. No issues with rubbing or anything. I had a few sessions in an event at Watkins Glen in the rain last summer and I left them on. I was quite impressed with the grip in the rain, I can see how they would be more likely to hydroplane though. But, these bridgestones look like they have a lot more tread to them. These are a great price for a summer tire, I wouldn't worry about wet traction too much, as long as you're aware and not tossing the car in corners when its raining you should be fine. I'm debating whether to get a set...price is too good!!

Figures, I just put the Dunlop Direzza sport Z1 star spec's on my car. I would have jumped all over the 225/45's...DAMN. (hand) $78. is just ridiculous.

Yes, 225/45 will work on a 7" wide rim... the 225/40 that some are using with stock rim is questionable on a 7" wide rim... not recommended by tire installers or manufacturer's. That's the size I'm using with the Dunlops...

Which do you recommend for a 8 inch wide rim? I am clueless when it comes to tires

With an 8" rim you could go 225/40, 235/40, or even 245/40 if you wanted. The 225/40 recommended rim width is 7.5"-9', the 235/40=8"-9.5" wide and the 245/40=8"-9.5"... it's up to you which way to go. Depends on your driving habits, do you autox/race etc...

so 225/45's only fit on a 7" rim? Cant do 225/45's on a 7.5" or 8"?

You can put 225/45s on a 7.5" or 8" wide wheel as well.

Too bad I only have 2700 miles on the RE050As, otherwise I would spring for this deal... It really seems like an excellently reviewed tire as well.

These tires were at one time the undisputed king of the "street tires" in SCCA Solo competition. As I mentioned before they're being replaced in Bridgestone's lineup by the upcoming RE-011.

Me too. 360 for a set is a great price. Too bad I have two half used sets of the RE050's to burn through first. Time to get to work(drive2)

Try calling again and talking to someone else. There's supposed to be more shipments coming in a couple weeks and they'll fullfill the orders then. They're not 100% sure how many they're getting, but expecting a lot.

Just pre-ordered a set of 225/45's for $78 each as well! $398 shipped to SoCal from Indiana...they said they were sold out of pre-orders at the NV warehouse. Still an awesome deal!!
Good timing too. I'm at 33,000 miles with my original RE050A's (about 1/32" left before wear bars) and was starting to research replacements when I found this thread... thanks for the heads up Nliiitend1!! (2thumbs)

I had those in 275/35/19 on my 350z, those bitches aint cheap!
From the looks on that link doesnt seem like they have many more left out there. Unless you want the 245/45/18, but that wont fit on the stockers.

Gotta give them a call; they only sell what is in currently in stock on the website. On the phone you can pre-order sizes they will be getting more of for the same [super cheap] price. You can still get 225/45's which fit the stock wheels if you just pick up the phone; I did just an hour ago!
The phone sales rep I had was very knowledgeable, friendly, and quick. My order was placed within 3 minutes of picking up the phone.

I saw this last week and called Tire Rack Friday morning, Guy said they were all out and was a real dick about it. He said some that had already ordered would not be getting them because they had taken more orders than they had tires coming in. Ok, I missed them, so i thought. I go online in another forum and guys are saying they just ordered an hour ago. Tire Rack had already closed so I called them back this morning to try again, the guy says yes they have a few more coming into the wharehouse in Deleware and that I may have gotten the last set. $78 for 225/45-18 comes to $364 shipped. I'm holding my breath and I'll beleive it when my friend, as my wife calls the guy driving the big brown truck, knocks on my door. I too don't need tires for another 6 months but this deal is too good to pass up. I have 18,000 miles on my 50's and hope to get atleast 25,000 out of them before installing the 01's

Mine arrived today, for my wife's 6.
I also ordered another set, according to my guy at TireRack, the last set. We'll see if they show, these will be for my speed3 if I do get them.
