"neither" wasn't one of the two options so your input wasn't needed.

P1

I don't care much for the P1. They will probably look small on the car. Everyone talks about "lip" "lippage" etc, but all of that just makes the wheels look smaller. Especially on a AWD car where you can't/shouldn't stagger your wheel/tire sizes... it just isn't my thing. if we were talking about a RWD car then having lots of lip on the rear wheels is all good.

I've got Rota GR-A which are similar to the Tarmac II. They are all good. I also think the G-force look good too.

i like the g-force but they are just to wide.

vicspeed_az has the p1's and i really like them, except he has the blacks with red lip.

I've always liked the look of the p1's. The tarmac III looks good on the ms6, but I never liked the ridge towards the back of the spokes.

You're right about the g-force being too wide on the car. Another ms6 in my club put a set on a few months back and they stick out really far. Kind of reminds me of the "platypus car" look you used to see on the real low end lowriders several years back.

bova I vote for the tarmacs but either way you are getting a sexy wheel!! Are those gunmetal or hyper black?

bova80
02-23-2009, 03:27 PM
gunmetal and i jumped on the p1's today. got a good deal so i couldn't pass it up.

remember just because in the product pic it shows a lip, your actual rims may not have one

bova80

they will look like the ones on vicspeed_az's but in gunmetal.

Thanks. It's a public forum. My input is always welcome. :}

I don't think either wheels will set off the car.

If your gonna go with Rota I would have to go with these

No reason to be sorry. Definately can't wait to see it with any type of wheels other than stock.

Nice pick with the P1's. Thats what I wanted, but got a good deal on Work CR KAI's, or else P1s it would have been. Good Luck!

I'm in the same boat as you, I can't decide which one between these two except for it will be for a MS3. Decisions Decisions...

WOW, I just notice this.

Hey when you are done looking at wheels, wanna go play some dodge ball during recesses with the other kids?

I usually don't start crap but that comment was way out on the left field. Very mature buddy.

Tarmac 3 18x8 225/40 with general Tires UHP one. hope this helps. and good luck with the choice.

Wow, you really needed a drop. almost didnt look like a speed in that photo. I like both sets and am prone to not go with the dished look, however isnt a bad look with it being so dark. Will you go 225/40?, wont fill the wheel well as much and exemplify the dish effect but you are lowered now if I am not mistaken so that wouldnt be a big deal.

bova80
02-24-2009, 09:13 AM
yes i am lowered. i will be running falken fk452 225/45/18 tires.

this is it lowered...

Looks good. I was gonna suggest the P1's but you already decided.

I wish the SVN's came in 18x8 for our cars, but 18x8.5 is pushing it for me. Looks like I'll stick with the Ultraleggera's from OZ.

When do you plan on putting those on?

bova80
03-03-2009, 04:37 PM
probably later this month. need to get my tires swapped from my other mazdaspeed wheels.

bova80
03-13-2009, 10:05 PM
they are 225/45/18s, that and having a lip makes the spoked region smaller

Aaron23
03-13-2009, 10:10 PM
Yeah I know what you mean I had 17's on my protege and they had a lip like that and everyone said they looked smaller. Are those 512's or 912's?

bova80
03-13-2009, 10:14 PM
falken fk452's

MS6... go 18x8 235/40. Almost exactly stock diameter and even more meat on the road.
