I was wondering if there was anyone that fit 17x8.5 inch wheels on their car without any issues.

You can bolt up just about any wheel with a 5x114.3 bolt pattern. The problem you'll run into is mounting a tire on the wheels. We need a whole lot more information to help you out.

I believe someone with a BM ran 17x8.5 +48 or +45 offset Rota Slipstreams with 235/45 tires.

I've also seen 17x9 with a 245/40. All depends on offset and how much work he wants to do to the car to make it work.

Yeah, Tigermack (MZ3) and some other dude M3F (MS3) are running the Enkei RPF's that are 17x9 +45 offset with a 5mm space up front.

I don't recall ever reading anything to that effect although when he first put them on he did mention being extremely close to the front strut.
