If/when I move back to a state requiring a front plate, I'm gonna pick one of those things up.

Just installed mine this weekend:
Below, the plate is lined up with the lines of the bumper - slight angle.

In this one, the plate is actually perfectly level.

I like that so much more than mounted to the center of the bumper.

did you guys fill the holes in the middle of the bumper? if so what did you use? I hate it in the middle of it, and when i go Front mount theres now way in hell im letting the license plate distract it.

you order a new front mustache (the black plastic strip) and it wont have holes. I got one for like 23 bucks from a vendor.

I read somewhere that a new "mustache" is only like $25.00 or something from the dealer. I'm gonna swing by and order one when I get around to it. Supposedly, the part # is BA6R-50-B31A.
I told the dealer I wouldn't take delivery of the car if they mounted the front plate holder... :-p they handed it to me wrapped in plastic and I threw it in the garbage can, heh.

I'm loving mine and living in a state that requires the front plate, this is a much better option.

Their website is here: http://www.cp-e.com/2122.html
You can order direct from them or from ProtegeGarage, they usually have a good price. Probably a few other places that sell it too, but not sure off the top of my head.

Thats funny cause I did the same thing to my Speed3 when I first got it over a year and a half ago if you look at my avatar. I just went to home depot and bought the right sized hook.. with a no mods to my original front bumper holder I just mounted it just like the CPE towplate.. Free :P

Well it wasn't free, you did have to buy the hook ;) Although I'm sure it was WAY cheaper then the CPE

I just screwed in two low profile black head plastic bolts into the holes and it looks just fine.

yours looks to be still mounted on the mustache...not over the fogs? Still lokks better than directly in the front

I don't get the fascination with this plate relocation. I'm gonna go against the grain and say it doesn't look good at all. You could argue that it serves a functional purpose but you can only lay claim to that if you have a FMIC. Anyone seen how the Evo OEM front plate holder is? THAT, looks way better than this.

But wouldn't the car come with the factory front plate holder if your state required it?

Mine came with the holder, but I told the dealer I did not want holes in my new car.

California requires front plates too but I just got lucky cause the dealers didn't drill holes in mine. Just in case if I get a fix it ticket for no front plates now I know what to get! :D
Oh yeah I wonder how an MS3 would look with the painted center consoles from www.bumperplugs.com like in red to match the interior or silver to match my sunlight silver.

I dont see any tow plate, I just see a license plate mounted to the side all japanese style, not sure why tho.
It does suck about holes in the mustache tho, I need that dealership stacche to replace mine with holes. Sucks you have to take the fucking bumper off to install the new scache, it can't just op on and off
