View Full Version : ILLUMINA STRUTS ??? or coil overs ?

i already have tein lowering coils ... and my stock struts are busted in the front ...
is it worth getting 4 tokico illumina ajustable ( the white one )
its about 900 to a gran canadian dollars.
anybody rolling with those ?
its only 50$ more each struts from the blue to white ...

can i get coil overs for a gran ? or 2nd hand one ?

i say look around the f/s section and youll find what you want. but i say go for the illuminas!

but i already have tein springs and i like the ride and the drop ... coilovers usualy give a ruffer ride..?

your gonna get a a bunch of different views, go with what you feel is best

i have the s-techs and the stock HP's and love it.

It all depends on what you want to do with the car. If you plan on doing some AutoX events here and there then go with the illuminas, but if you plan on doing it alot and competing then go with coils.



But with the price you telling us it would take to get illuminas look into what it will cost to get BC racing coilover. They are under grand in the states not sure how much that would be in Canada

its my everyday car and roads around here are pretty BAD with winter 4months a year.
i have s tech to and i love it but front shocks are busted so.
a us grand = to 1200-1300 canadian + shipping and broker fee.

If it's a DD and you won't fully utilize coilovers, go w/ the Illuminas.

oohh and justwondering , can i switch coils for winter and summer without busting the illuminas ? or its a no no ?
cuz i have to lift it for the winter and lower it in the summer

I'm rollin lowered on them & others have even used factory springs with them IIRC. It seems that it would change with the dampening action. Don't think you'll bust'em tho.

ok cuz i dont feel like buying 4 illumina and then next fall to buy 2 stock front shocks to lift it back ! if i can ride those struts with both springs ill be happy
