Can you guys confirm that a 2002 Mazda 626 2.0 is interchangeable with a Protege 2.0. I need to buy a new motor and the 626 engines are considerably less from a junk yard than the Protege.

Thanks

There's this thing called the search button, its a pretty nifty invention, you use it to find answers to questions like these..

a simple yes would have sufficed, in fact it would have taken you less time to say that than to insult someone

lol I find it really funny when these arguments occur.

I would imagine it would be very frusterating for a moderator at how many people do not use the search tool .. Silver5 is just trying to make less mumbo jumbo threads on here especially when they've already been discussed elsewhere. It's his job to help you learn the difference for your future searches!

It probably would have taken him the same amount of time to search and find the answer as it did to make this thread. See my point?

I did a search and this is what I read and believed, but wanted to confirm. This is why I stated "Can you Confirm"

Points well taken, but I do agree with tsunami7

To me, the search function on forums suck if you don't know how to search for it correctly. So most people do not know how to use it correctly to find the answer quickly.

Maybe start a new thread on tips for good searches? Or should I search for that? As a newer member, people have bitched at me too. There are some merits to reviving a topic. New members, experiences, etc. On the other hand, some topics have been discussed to the ground. However, a few cranky postings doesn't deter me from this excellent P5 community.

Well its been tried before on many forums I go to., most people overpass it and don't give it a try, cause to most people its easier just to wait for someone to answer then to work for the answer.

the search function on this forum blows.

I understand how to use it, but to someone new its really confusing.

It pulls up threads according to your key word, and how recent it is, not how relevant it is. So unless you know what to look for, and what words to use, its hard.

Show results by posts, not by threads. Gives you more meaningful results.

Another problem is that you have to wade through the 20 threads with the only response being "USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION" until you find the single original thread that all these people were supposed to have found while searching.

Straight up simple question, but there's obviously a lot of rude mf punks on here. I agree about looking through the search function, the results are usually buried in threads and take lots of time to find. Sorry though I can't help.

this big fucking headache of a thread wouldn't exist if the n00b actually posted ONE thread in the right section for HIS car to begin with because his answers are in his DUPLICATE thread right now http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123733823

furthermore, the lack of response from him in either one of his threads shows either how much he cares about the issue or how little he knows about the fact that he HAS to check his threads after posting for responses!
