How much if anything of the 6 is Ford?

I know the oil dipstick has FoMoCo on it but is this car/engine at all Ford Designed or made by the same companies/people who make Ford products?

I read in some auto testing article that Ford designed the 3.7L engine. I don't know about the 4-cyl.
As with the dipstick, I also noticed that the rear brake calipers are also stamped "FoMoCo"

I see on my calipers "FoMoCo".
Canadian version 2009 Mazda 6 GT. 4 cylinder, 6-speed and 18" wheels

I know the motors are both Ford designed for the most part, as well as various other parts. Any reason why you were wondering?

I'll find out more when my g/f takes delivery of her 6s Touring tomorrow.

on the speed6 my spark plugs said FoMoCo
maybe your guys plugs are too..

Remember, the new Mazda6 is build at AAI which is the same line as the Mustang.
