View Full Version : TPMS Light Turned Off...weird

Ok so like the title says. My TPMS light on my dash blinked for about a minute and went out today. The thing is that I run 17" wheels and tires in the winter with no TPMS in them. I'm kind of wondering why my light went out....Anyone have this happed before?

thats awesome news for those who dont run the tpms sensors and wish the light wasnt there.

Also running 17's with no tire PMS sensors....but have the light. i suspect it will come back on shortly for you

I have 16" steelies with snow tires right now, sometimes the TPMS doesn't even blink from when I start the car to when I shut it off. It's a pretty temperamental system, I've noticed. It's probably picking up interference from something else and thinks it's the signal from the wheels.

I have this happen to me all the time running my aftermarket wheels and no TPMS sensors.

My wife has a CX-7 that is parked next to me in the garage. Sometimes my Speed3 picks up her sensors and doesn't set off the light on my dash. I've also had this happen to me when I was parked next to a Mazda6 (I think) somewhere and my light did not go off until the next time I restarted the car.

Was pretty cool, but weird that the cars CanScan system can pickup other vehicles TPMS sensors.

maybe the bulb burnt out. but it might be an LED so that wouldn't be right

Ok at least other people have had it happen and not be a big deal. I though maybe it burned out but it was blinking first, like when you first take off and there are no monitors. I'm sure it'll come back on later today or something. Just stranger because it never happened all last year running the same wheels.

You think that's strange - I've been running my 16" steelies and snow tires since late October and the TPMS light has NEVER come on, not even once. Not a flicker, nothing. Unless TireRack unknowingly gave me some free TPMS sensors with the tire package, I don't know what's up with it. I'm not complaining though, it would bother me a bit having that dash light on all the time.

Canada doesn't have the same laws as the US, so Canadian models don't have TPMS...

Hey maybe it was the TPMS fairy...I've been running errands all day since I got up and still no light.

D'oh and I thought my TPMS was defective all this time!

Now that I think about it, with all you guys having issues with the TPMS, seems almost better to just do it the 'ol fashion way like I always have.

Ok it's been jinked. 5 miles down the road and the sensor light came back on.

Yeah mine did this the other day. Came back next time i started the car.

The flip key, no tpms.... makes me wish i had the canadian model.

The TPMS on this car has a mind of its own. It defies logic and common sense.

hey alllostthings, did the light ever come on?? mine went off today after a couple months of it being on. I have shut the car off and turned it on 5 times since it went off and it hasnt come back.

i am thinking that it eventually realizes that it is missing input so it just temporarily disables itself.
