Hes right, if you have alot of miles its prob sticking. You could take it off and clean it out and see if it helps, if hes going to do it, ask him to do a pressurised tb/intake cleaning. At work we use BG Intake cleaner, you hook it up to compressed air, and put a nozzle in the intake tube and run the car. Works good.

Ive done mine through the brake booster line, but i dont think it would get to the IAC, caus mine still idles a bit rough. Id have ur shop do it.

Is it a small miss? Maybe not a hiccup. I advanced my timing a little bit and it runs alot better. Better gas mileage also.

Might have a burnt exhaust valve.
