I decided to finally paint my badges and black out my tails / 3rd brake light / smoked led reflectors for the rear bumper. I've had the badges stripped of Chrome pretty much all winter, but it's been so cold out I haven't done anything with it. These aren't done yet, I still have a couple coats of clear to go, but I figured I'd share with you guys (yippy). I think it turned out well, can't wait to get them on the car. I know it's not for everyone, but hey I like it! (Click any picture for full res)

If you factor in stripping the badges it's been weeks (god that sucks), but I'd say about 4-5 hours of of painting / sanding over 2 days went into all of it.

Lots of bleach, lots of patience. You have to soak them in bleach and then scrub them with something abrasive (i used copper wool) about every 48-72 hours. It takes 5-6 bleachings and you still have to do a little sanding to completely get it off. Royal PITA, but worth the results.

If you go to Lowes, they sell bleach tablets you drop into a gallon of water. I bought some and I'm gonna drop them into a quart or two of water and then go from there. Figured if the bleach is stronger, it might strip them faster.

Oven cleaner works too.

I tried industrial strength easy off and it did nothing. Only thing that worked for me was bleach.

ok. i know the subject has been dead over a week now.. but i just tried taking my rear reflectors off and felt like i was about to break the things... did you have to go behind it and unclip them like the side reflectors?? and if so how. cuz that big ass bar is in my way.

the rear bumper HAS to be dropped to get those middle rear reflectors out. The side ones can come off without taking the bumper off.

The middle ones have a screw on the back that holds them in while the side ones have a clip. So the screwdriver needs a place to go so the rear support bar blocks it. Taking the bumper down is actually quite easy. Like 3 bolts on each side, 4 clips in the middle, and a screw behind each taillight.

10 minutes tops to drop it down
