Sorry of this seems like a silly question but I was wondering for those who have a third gen car. Where does your engine seem to make the most power? Later down the road, I want to increase the output but I do not want to get to crazy with it. Not knowing how much gas is going to go up I cannot be too power hungry. Just by the seat of the pants feeling I got the engine seems out of breath around 5000 RPM. I’m more of a handling freak then I am a power nut, but I would like a bit more power coming out of the turns. I'd like to stay away from any kind of force induction if at all possible.

get a header even if the rest of the exhaust is stock! That was one of the best mods for me for my old P5 Also the exhaust still sounds the same as stock plus better power that you can feel.

Also forgot to mention dont even bother with a intake. All it does it make noise for the most part.

I agree intakes are nice looking but I don't see how they make any real power with the hood closed. I've been though this with some friends & I keep telling them, that they don't drive with the hood up & a fan blowing on it. (bicker) I've heard the Magnaflow exhaust I love the deep rich sound it has. Not sure how much more power it makes if any, but it sounds like it wouldn't be too bad on the interstate.

actually some cars the intake is a huge improvement on power just not on our NA cars and of course some it hurts power as well.

I'd have to see that to believe it & with the hood down.
