Swaybar bushings

I figured Mazda would've learned from their mistakes with the MSP (clunk anyone?) but apparently not. The clunk was the single most annoying thing about my former car. I never thought it would show its face with my MS3 but its reared its apparently reared its ugly head. After spending at day at the dealership, they've determined that it needs new swaybar bushings. (the clunk was as loud if not louder than it had been with my MSP... prior to buying the AXR bracekt)

So I figured I'd do a search and see plenty of other people in the same boat.... but that wasn't the case. So what gives? Is my car defective or something? This shit gonna come back like it always did with the MSP? I swear... if I have to shell out $200 for a new swaybar JUST to get rid of this clunk... man that's gonna fire me up. Hopefully this fix will be permanent.

You should get a bigger sway bar anyway. Helps the car rotate better and fixes this issue. Two birds, one stone.

I have the Cobb RSB and I've been getting some clunking when going over bumps. On my last car ('99 Civic Si), I had a big aftermarket swaybar as well that would clunk but that was due to a bad endlink. I haven't had anyone look at it yet but I hope it's just a small matter of the RSB needing a new coat of grease and not a busted endlink.

It's pretty obvious that you're experiencing the Canadian clunk, which is weak against the U.S. clunk according to today's conversion rates.

How about the Lemon Law?! (yes) I've taken my car to the dealer only 6 times to have this problem fixed, they just can't figure it out. (uhm)

i have had issues with this as of late. my problem ended u pbeing that the endlink nuts kept coming lose, and the swat bar ended up hitting the driverside lower control arm since the endlinks were not hold the swaybar in place, I ended up getting an alan and wrenches to tighten the nuts and put some locktite on them and hence problem gone. also make sure that you have grease between your bushings and swaybar, that could possibly add some binding and cause some "clunk"

Turns out one of the bushings was cracked. They put new ones in and it's all fixed. Hopefully that was just a fluke.

The tech at my dealer has a MSP, he looked at mine, regreased the rear and no more sqweek. I only had this problem when the temps went below 15. it's been in the 30-40's laterly, so the sqweeks are all gone.

my endlinks are causing the clunking on my ms3 also where the rear control arms are mounted is clunking what gives
