Current Mods:
FMIC,
Hardpipes,
Bov,
MAF Relocation,
AEM Cold Air Intake,
Boost Gauge,
10psi,
Catless Exhaust, w/a tiny Muffler(I did not put this on got it that way from the dealer)
In Progress:
ATP Wastegate,
Custom Exhaust w/ just the j pipe(no mid-pipe or Muffler)
Need Suggetions on:
AEM Wideband,
Boost Controller,
1 step colder plugs,
Should my Boost be lower eventhough its been like this for over a year I just Had no idea because my boost gauge was not hooked up properly.
The boost gauge also only reads 17-19 vac but i cannot find the leak if there is one.
Any other suggestions would greatly be appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!
And If I get the ATP wastegate will i still be sitting on 10psi???? and If not the boost Controller will set this at 10psi correct?????

ok well a wideband and 1 step colder plugs will run about 260... ok well go with them (not a bad choice)

if you haven't replaced your wastegate yet that might be causing the low idle vacuum haha...replacing it could bring it up a tad
rear motor mount though is my suggestion

Isn't the rear MM the one that vibrates the hell out of the car?
Plugs are really cheap. I get mine at NAPA. Normally they're not in stock so they order them in. The NGK ZFR7F's part number at NAPA is "NGK 5913."

yea it does, but once it breaks in it's really not as bad as everybody makes it out to be....but that mount is notorious for failing and causes your engine to rock around a shit-ton, audibly lol
either get a mount or AT LEAST get inserts

Okay thanks so how exactly will the wideband help this car? or do i even need it?

it won't benefit you power-wise, however if you are planning to up the boost at all it is an invaluable gauge to have because it can give you a good solid place to start to diagnose why you are experiencing certain symptoms

A wideband and an AFC
Definitely the best suggestion.
A wideband allows you to very accurately monitor your Air/Fuel Ratios (AFRs), which are very critical to the health of your engine. High (lean) AFRs under boost, and you won't be having an engine for much longer. Too low (rich) and you're loosing power. It's an ESSENTIAL piece of the puzzle when it comes to properly tuning your vehicle so that you know you have enough fuel being delivered at all times. Also, if you start having problems with your car.. a wideband can tell you a lot about what's going on and where to start with diagnosing the problem.
The SS AFC on the other hand is probably the most economical and MSP friendly tool for tuning and adjusting your AFRs, timing, etc.

alright thanks

the ss AFC is economical, yes, but I still don't much like it....I've never been a fan of piggybacks though, something about trying to trick an ecu to do something just bothers me (and it shows when you have to spend way more time tuning it, it'll run properly quicker but youll be fighting it for days to get it to work properly in all conditions especially if the ecu trying to compensate for the changes over time...)
my recommendation if you go with some kind of tuning system is the AEM F/IC, check it out on protege garage....it controlls fuel and timing independently of the ECU so you have complete control over that, and it is at a pretty damn good price for what it is

yeah i told him to get the AEM FIC but i still have not seen any instructions on how to install this on a msp! someone needs to make a how to!

to be honest with you it's not difficult to install a standalone/piggyback
just gotta get the pinout for the ecu (I can provide if you need it) and follow the instructions for the FIC on what each wire needs to hook up to, that simple

Im really freaked out for the past couple of months I have been driving my cafr with a messed up wastegate its been cutting out really hard im guessing fuel cut that could not have been good on my engine if my engine is running ok now it should still be good as long as i get ever thing lined out right?

yes get the wideband
if it's running fine now then it should be fine, just get that wastegate replaced ASAP
that's your #1 mod right now
ATP turbo offers a replacement for like 60-75 bucks

yea it's a surefire way to spin a bearing if your wastegate is sticking closed, trust me I know lol
just stay out of boost and you'll be fine though...or watch your boost guage closely...long as you stay around 4-5 psi you should be fine

I support this x1000
As I said in your previous thread.. you can't mod a car that runs like shit. Fix what's broken, THEN start modding.
