The sound is kinda either love it or hate it.
pretty much plug n play, i did notice that it seems like the bolts bottom out in the stock holes in the coldpipe so I put a couple of washers on top of the holes for peace of mind.

yes definately use some washers or trip the bolts other wise your will break them off, they break easy.

Question. With a BOV do you always hear a sound? For daily driving and low rpm shifts?

your gonna want to fiddle with the springs they give you to get the best feel. i don't remember off the top of my head, but i think the yellow or blue are the springs to use, with or without the shims. basically just unscrew the top and switch em out, go for a drive and decide what feels best to you.

only if you hit boost. a BOV/BPV is designed to release the built up pressure in the system by either releasing it back into the intake stream, or out to the atmosphere. so, to get a noise, you need to have enough pressure built to release.

I didn't have any issues with the bolts, and I am using the yellow spring with no shims .. its an easy install.

I hear my stock BPV go off even when I'm driving normally. Granted it's really quiet, though...

What exact use do the shims have?

tightens the spring a little bit, gives you another level of turning.

Can you use the stock bolts from the OEM BPV for the Forge?
