Okay, so i decided i wanted to paint my emblems in the "M" look in blue. I wanted to be different from all those that are doing the black with red. So we took off the emblems and sanded them blah blah... We finished the "mazdaspeed 3" and stuck it on. I wasnt sure if i liked the color because it was not the blue i as looking for. but my friend convinced me to wait till the next day for the M emblems to dry and we could stick it on. The next day we went to finish the front and rear's. we finished with the last coat and started to apply the clear coat. i went to pick it up the rear badge and super rooked it. i dropped it and it cracked. so now i have to wait to buy another one. Please tell me what u guys think of the "mazdaspeed 3" color. Personally i think its too light and dont really like it..
Thanks for the opinions.
And yes i know the "M" doesnt look that well painted, i was mad that it broke so i threw it against the wall and the paint just got more messed up, it looked really good before it broke haha.

Different.
I like it.
Most wont like it because they only like whats tried and true..they are afraid to try something different.
A lot of popular stuff is turned down by many at first....Just remember that.

3 is a little crooked and I am not a fan of the blue. Darker and a glossier blue would look nicer.

nope. looks cheesy to me.
and your 3 is way off center.
as much as i think blacked out badges are overdone (which is why i havent touched mine) my opinion is you should just leave it alone.

i think i am going to go rim color with mine. i am not a big fan of chrome but ithink it would be a nice and subtle touch this way.

Ya I dont think it looks that bad. The more clear you put on it the darker it will get, so maybe try that before you repaint.

that sucks! thats one reason I dont want to do the M since I am affraid it will break. The opther reason is because Ive seen closeup pics of how the bottom looks like crap when dremmeled out since the bottom portion is raised and hollow inside.
Props for another Speed3 thats local to me, I live in Canoga Park/Northridge area

Are there any meets around here?

Check out MOCCforums.com for smaller local stuff, and some of the major regional meets go up in the california regional forum (as well as on MOCC)
What about like a darker silver? so it retains almost that OEM shine, but just darker? i think that would look better than blacked out or blue/green/purple w/e

Well I chose blue so it would stand out and it's my favorite color. My last car was like a midnight blue color and that's what I was looking for. But for some reason it dried really light.

not too many locals in the valley with speed3 that are on here. Maybe 5 of us. There are meets like NCZ13 mentioned, but you would need to drive into LA or further for them usually, and driving into LA can be hell with traffic.

Sorry, painting badges just seems pretty gay to me. But if someone put a gun to my head and made me choose, I would not go with the shade of blue that you got.

yeah thats pretty ugly, looks better on the white.
but black rims with that color lip (maybe more of a dark royal blue to stand out more from the black) would be sick and the badges like that would be even better..

BLICK... to all of it...
either to leave the emblems (badges? we don't need no stinkin' badges) chrome... or take them off...
and the blue wheels on black??.. i hope i never see that on a mazda! i thought we were cooler than that!!! maybe a bright flat blue. or a nice deep red. hmmmm. now i'm doing it! AAM's look cool, cuz they are almost anodized looking... and besides, he is crazy anyway.
and the chrome wheels you can have as well... on a black car, i would go a nice bright silver... or brushed aluminum... or even all black. the only dark color i would do would be black.
i would rather see guys taking the dremel to the air box than to the emblems.
