Which one? I have the tubular MAM mani now, but need to get it ceramic coated.. gets VERY hot even when the car is idling for a short time. Cost for ceramic coating is $120 so I'm looking for opinions.. can't decide if I should keep the MAM or go with the Steedspeed since it's already coated.

i would just get it coated...why spend the money on a new mani when you have a VERY nice one to begin with?

LOL I love my MAM besides it getting so hot.. I have found a place to get it coated, also there is about a 4"-5" difference in width between the two manifolds, more room with the Steedspeed, less with the MAM.
get the steed and sell me your mam one haha

do you need the extra room? i have a steed speed...i like it...but if i had a mam, i wouldn't replace it. it really isn't worth the money or trouble, imo.

It's not that necessary I guess, but the shop that has my car right now is going to be taking it all off anyway (WGA doesn't work at all thanks to the idiots in Dahlonega), so I figured I'd better decide while it's off. What about the differences in performance?

not sure about the gains of the SS stacked-up against the MAM. Scott (velocifero) dyno'd the SS vs. the Thunder.

hey since your timing is messed up that can cause ur mani to get way hotter than it should....might be your problem there

Yeah, I was thinking about that but didn't know for sure since the MAM mani I have isn't coated.. freakin thing burned me and I barely touched it. But yeah, looks like I'll keep the MAM.. and get it coated. It will make it look better too, and hopefully help with the heat.

And For the record....Unless your sending it out to Jet-Hott....Not a Local Shop...It'll still get hot..Even with Jet-Hott...It will be smokin.
Its friggin Exhaust....And right next to the combustion....Did you expect it to be cool?

MAM is my vote. Re-coat it and it will be fine.

idk, i mean if you have the extra money layin around go for it but by all means its not a necessity whatsoever. it's gonna be more appearance than anything.

No, I don't expect it to be cool. I know it's exhaust.
I understand that it will still get hot even with the coating, but I was hoping it would help some, since right now it's not coated at all and it's way hotter than I remember the stock mani ever being. Probably from the material, but still. I know I could never explain on here just how hot the damn thing gets, so nobody would really understand my point, but it gets HOT.

No...I know it gets hot...but if you had the COver on your stocker..thats why it feels soo much different.
ANy Temp coating will help if you have none...and it will clean it up as well.
Jet-Hott is the real way to go..but you have to ship it up to them.
Worth it if you ask me.

I didn't have the cover on my stock one, this is the shop that I've found so far.. http://www.procryo.com/
I don't know if I would have time to ship it to the Jet-Hott people, since my car will be sitting at a shop in Athens while I'm getting the mani coated (and while they refab a WGA that actually works for my car.. idiots in Dahlonega messed up the one they put on my car, so it hasn't been working at all, not surprising). I may check into it anyway though, thanks.
