In the pictures on the Cobb site there is a small supporting piece in the picture. Is it necessary to have it perform well? Does it even need it?

I would think yes. Without that bracket being secured down, it seems like the intake tube wouldn't be enough to support it by itself under heavy load.

From what I understand, that bracket tends to break the bolt holding it in place *goes outside to check*

it will flop a bit but like others said if its missing it will work, like the ones that broke it have made it work.

it works fine without it.
Ive had mine off for a while, and I know tons of others that have as well, and it stays on perfectly fine.

Would it be worth it to try and make my own? Or zip tie it to something to hold it still?
