Not sure how often any of you guys make it over to the ms3 section, but I figured you may be interested in something I stumbled across over there http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123730272 . Just got mine today and I am very impressed with it. Welds are clean and recirc tube does not stick out on the inside of the pipe. If you're in the market for one I would highly recommenced jumping over there and ordering one from Jarod.

i'll have a turbo inlet up for sale in the next few weeks. just like that one only made by a guy on the other forums. professionally done and there are about 80 of us that have them.

Haven't installed it yet since I'm still waiting on my intake, but I will post pics and impressions as soon as I get everything set up. Turns out another guy in my local mazda club ordered one for his ms3 and was thrilled to see what it looked like... hopefully I'll have mine installed first though.

Now, if we're gonna talk about who we're stuck with, I think I get...I'm stuck with the LIONS! But I was a born and raised Steeler fan, so I think you should sell it to me...or I could just get a Cobb or CP-E one.

since the cobb one came out i'll have to lower my price on this one i guess although it is a real nice piece if you want aluminum. my cobb inlet arrives monday.

So can I assume the Cobb TIP for the Speed3 fits the Speed6 ? Or is that wishful thinking.

the TIP for both cars is the same item. The pipe will work for either the MS3 or MS6. The good thing for the MS6 guys is that our engine bay is bigger, making it easier to install and less chance of rubbing on something.

I noticed a huge difference with swapping out my stock intake for my fujita, and can see how restricted the stock inlet pipe is too. But does it really make that big of a difference? I ordered mine through darkstar in San Diego.

Do you think there is an issue since it doesn't have a bracket to hold it down (at least from what I have read).

bova80
02-04-2009, 04:49 PM
nope. its pretty sturdy on its own. it is reinforced with steel in the silicone.

Ordered a black Cobb inlet, along with silicone recirc and vacuum tubes today. I should have it Wed. It'll be mated to a Mazdaspeed CAI.

Yep, and I'll have my laptop in the garage when I install. I had a general idea of how to install it, but identifying all the little things was easier with your pics. Thanks!

Was wondering why noone has mentioned that Protege Garage sells a 'High flow 3 inch Turbo inlet pipe kit' for the MS6, was there something wrong with it or was it just too pricey @$325.00?

If it's the ATP tube, there's been a lot of talk about issues with it running funny after install.

I used to run the ATP 3" TIP, and theres nothing wrong with it; since it runs from the back of the air flow sensor, I cant imaging what can go wrong. But if used with the ATP air flow sensor then theres another story.

And of course because of the ATP air flow sensor housing not because the turbo inlet pipe.

I've been running the cp-e piece for a while and its been great so far. It's amazing when you finally take the stock one out and see how terrible it is.

wouldnt that be because of your HKS and not because of the Cobb? try switching back to the stocker bpv and see what happens.

It didn't do it til I put on the cobb.

bova, i am running just the cobb intake right now, i am experiencing a slight turbulence/hesitation when going downhill around 2500-2900rpm with my foot on the accelerator, is this the vaccum of the intake fighting over whether to suck air/coast? will the inlet solve this?

i feel it in the accelerator pedal and the car pulls back a little bit, i am not accelerating, but cruising when this happens.
