Axle Question

So I just picked up a new set of axles. I got to looking at them and noticed there is no little ring in the groove on the driver side axle where it goes into the tranny. Is this normal? I know on all other cars I have changed axles on they had the ring. Just want to make sure before I pull the car apart.

the ring is to hold the axle in the transmission not sure how much you need this as once its in the transmission it wont come out when the axles in the hub...but you can prob get a new one from mazda for cheap

Yeah I know that it holds the axle in, but I figure if you spend $700 on some axles that it should come with the ring

did the other one come with it? if so then i would go back to who you got them from and let them know

$700??!?!? thats crazy, is there any chance of you using the old clip?

also, the clips are needed to keep the splines in place, it will still move a little due to the cv joints. It jsut wont fall out all the way.
