Just trying out the new camera and some software I got.
This one was made to look a little more realistic. 3 shots used (+2, 0, -2 EV):

These were with a little more toying around with the settings...again, 3 exposures (+2, 0, -2 EV).

I need to get a better tripod so that I can take more than just the 3 shots with no movement of the camera. I tried taking 5 shots for each picture by setting up the AEB for -1, 0, +1 for one shot and -2,0,+2 for the next, but the camera moved slightly between shots, so I wasn't able to merge all 5 shots without it being blurry or taking a lot of time aligning them manually.
Anyway, just trying things out...nothing great, but it's a start!

sooo...what camera is it
and if you're trying to be artistic you should probably wait till it stops snowing. the flakes interfere with the rest of the subject. also, when i used to use 35mm film and there was a lot of snow i used to use tungsten film. it's mainly to help balance light in florescent situations, but it creats a cool blue to everything, which is best with snowy landscapes.
btw...good luck driving in that sh*t...lol

it'll be pretty hard to work with HDR in snow with a white car. Put it in a dark garage, on black tarmac with a crazy sunset etc somewhere where dynamic range will be a problem.
Good job though! I'll be watching out for more.
Thanks!

Check to see if the camera has any bracketing settings, that way you push the shutter once and it takes 3 pictures to the pre determined ev step. What program are you using to do the HDR processing? I have been having issues lately with photomatrix pro and looking for another alternative.

No offense, but your winter tire setup transforms your MS3 into a monster truck. Offset is like +35 on those wheels?

Yeah, they aren't meant for the MS3, that's for sure. I got them pretty cheap though, and the tires are Blizzack's in near perfect condition. Got all four wheels and tires for $150.
Camera is a Rebel XS.
And yeah, I just got the camera and the program so I just wanted to see if I could get them to work. I know these aren't the best, but it was more or less just a proof of concept for me. I used Dynamic Photo HDR for the second two.

And I do understand these are not good examples of what an HDR image should be...again, I'm just trying to get the whole process down.

i would have to say the overall picture and contrast look good. i've gotten lazy over the years with my photography, i really should get back into it
and with the amount of snow in those front wheels it makes it seem like you're rocking 2 sets of wheels

Man, that's more snow than I have braved yet! It's all the way up to the bumper!
What tires do you have btw?
In some of those pics, the white looks almost off-white or yellowish to a degree.
