Ok, I have a few scratches on my rear bumper where I was backing up and had the clutch pressed in and let off the brake for a second and the car rolled back a few inches and barely brushed our chain length fence beside the house. There are a few fine scratches on the rear bumper beside the exhaust. I need to know where I can get some touch up paint or one of them paint pens or whatever with the factory Cosmic Blue Color? Any help is appreciated.

Mazda had been sending a jar of touch up paint awhile after the car is purchased. I bought mine in Feb. 08 but have not received mine yet. Bummer!! You might check with the Dealer. Another Bummer!

Mazda was only sending those if you financed through the dealer. Dealer sells the touch up paint for less than $10 I believe so its not too bad. I guess it depends on how bad the scratches are, fine scratches you should be able to buff out.

can this be ordered online or have to go to the dealer to do so?? I bought the car used, so I don't have a specific dealership.

just go to the dealer, go tot he parts dept, tell them your paint code and they will probably have it in stock.
i know my dealership stocks at least one of every color paint pen for the last 8 years.

its classified as a hazardous material so it cant be shipped by air or overnight, i know that much. Dealers havent had white in a long time and i gave up looking.

Yup. Chemicals have to be shipped via ground. Usually takes 2 days to get the parts.
So if its ordered on monday, it would be there by thursday. Or whenever the dept recieves its stock order from the warehouse. Contrary to most beliefs, parts depts dont stock copious amounts of everything.
there are regional warehouses taht supply parts to the dealerships, and they are usually 1-2 shipping days away.

Probably because the area around the touched up mark had defects and flaws. Marring and swirls (be it majorly swirled, or just lightly) can change the hue of color of the car. If the panel was corrected, they would probably match
It has to do with how the light reflects off the surface.

The paint is too thin to cover anything, couldn't even cover a rock chip. Using regular paint seems 100% better because you can actually fill the rock chip spots, then wet sand n buff and it looks like it was never there :D

What are you talking about. Your supposed to apply the paint in layers, not just one big glob.
It would be the same whether it comes in a tiny touch up jar, or a regular sized jar. The process is still the same.

I have bought a few things from them, and all was well. Don't know what they will charge in shipping for a can of paint but its probably cheaper than gas to go 2 hours and back.

you missed my point.
Its the same touch up process whether it comes in pen, tiny jar, big jar, etc.
your not doing a large area, but little chips, therefore priming is unecessary. The paint pens we have at hyundai have a clearcoat side, so yes, you can clear it, wetsand it, and compound and polish.
