So i have hard pipes, a greddy BOV on the cold pipe, an Injen intake, a forge wastegate and everything else is pretty much stock.

I just tried to relocate my MAF to the cold pipe so that i could run a VTA BOV but my car is running like ish right now. seems like it is burning way too rich by the smell of it. did i do something wrong with the set up? here is a picture...

i think 12" is what they say... mine is about 9 or 10 i think... i couldnt really go much further bc of the location of my BOV.

if you reset the ECU, sometimes it takes it awhile to figure everything out... same thing happened when i installed my SS AFC. Reset the ECU and car ran like crap for about 5 min until it sorted itself out. Runs great now.

true... you don't think the maf being that close to the bov and TB had anything to do with it?

I can't find the thread now, but I thought I read somewhere that the BOV and MAF should also be further apart. Having them too close together can cause too much turbulence too close to the MAF causing an incorrect reading and screw up the A/F mixture. I could be wrong, but is that why I see so many people mount the BOV on the hot side? I also saw a thread about the MAF needing to be further from the throttle body.

Exactly.. that's the reason I made my FMIC kits like that.. with the BOV on the hot side. Some people want to have the bov and the maf on the cold side, but I believe it does cause a lot of turbulence and can cause the MAF to get a screwed up reading. By just having the MAF on the cold side, about 9-12 inches from the throttle body, mine works great and it definitely gets a good and consistent reading.

sounds awesome. i will most likely be getting in on that group buy you are doing :)

Yes, to confirm what other people says, the BOV and MAF are way to close together.
