*EDIT-2*

Did a little PS work on the first pic...added a little bit of "nasty" to it.

i always tell the sales guy... you can put a tag frame with the dealer name, but it comes out of the detail and you hand me the keys, i'm not taking it if it has a dealer badge on the paint...

:) hate those things... always poorly designed, then usually put on the car crooked...

Make the dealer take their sticker off. They have a device that does it easily without any damage.

Only other thing I'd do (which I have) is remove the front license plate. You'll be left with 2 holes in the black panel of course. If you care enough, you can get a replacement from the dealer for $40. Sort of just pops in there. I say sort of because there are 3 actual screws in the middle of it (something they didn't tell me of course) that make it a bit difficult to get off. In the end though, it's well worth it. Hate front license plates with a passion. And don't talk to me about getting tix or any of that nonsense. I drove an orange MSP around for close to 6 years in a state where it is indeed illegal. Hey, rolling through stop signs and driving over the speed limit is illegal too!

Nice ride though... Almost got a white one but had my heart set on a silver. LED tails are literally the only reason I'd want a GT. In the end, it wasn't worth spending an extra 2 grand for some damn tail lights.

yep... illegal here (TX), but i'm not putting it on mine... or i'm getting a towplate kind of set-up... i doubt i get hassled too much about it... DPS guys (state highway patrol) are the only ones who care that much... and besides, they don't hassle the older guys that much, just you young'uns and yer fancy wheels and such. (silly)

In illinois the state cops don't mess around with the front license plate thing...they will pull you over. I was heavy active in the GTO community and I can't count the guys who got busted for not having one. The also don't mess around with having your front windows tinted either...they will ticket you on that one. My neighbor has an '05 GTO, he removed the license bracket, professionally fixed the bumper...and got busted and ticketed three times last summer, he finally replaced the plate. He also had his side windows tinted and also got busted and ticketed.

Anymore Illinois cops are on the rampage with tickets...

No tint yet but it's coming, I can't stand having a car without tinted windows. I'll get it done this spring.

Welcome to the forums, I love the way the CWP looks on this car, that was my decision maker. After I saw the car in person in that color I knew I had to have it lol.

Hard to believe it's that bad. Then again, looking at how corrupt your Governor is anything is possible. (j/k) So if I lived there... I'd probably just throw my plate up on the dash. Here in CT anyway... that's legal.

Funny enough there is an article in the current Car and Driver about cops now being used as a form of revenue...

On holidays Illinois actually has state cops every 10 miles on every highway...they even advertise it on the radio/TV/etc. I just took a class to get a ticket off my record and they even said Ill is trying to get the highway limit back down to 55.

This state is insane anymore, I used to see someone pulled over once in a while but now it's a daily sighting. And no more warnings. In the past year I've received 3 tickets...in all of my 15 years of driving I haven't had that many combined. The last one was using a U turn on the highway along with many others due to an accident stopping traffic. I was pulled over along side 6 others...we all received a ticket and 6 warnings...that's right...6. It took the two hours to give me my ticket...

Hey Smoke,

I was going to buy from Heritage, but the sales guy I got was a turd sandwich. I ended up buying my CWP GT from the dealership in Bloomington, but I don't want to drive that far to get her serviced. You'll have to let me know what you think of Heritage's service dept. Maybe I'll start going there.

Tremont huh? I grew up in Tremont, class of '96...

Anyway...Heritage's service dept so far is shit...I went in to talk to their manager about putting a SRI on my car and he wouldn't even have a conversation with me... his response?

"Void the warranty..."

"But it's just a SRI..."

"Don't care, any engine mods and I'll void your warranty."

That guy was an ass...the sales staff was also incompetent. Did you by chance see my GTO sitting on their sales floor (traded in early Dec)...I laughed when I saw that it was "GM certified" and had a warranty for 60K miles even with the aftermarket parts they threatened to void my factory warranty over...

They messed up my sales paperwork, put the wrong address on it, got me a loan through the wrong bank (I go through Cefcu...they said that's where the loan was from...it turned out to be Commerce)...they were morons, if I ever have to do business with them again it will be too soon.

Absolute bullshit!! It's up to us (citizens) to stand up against this crap. Write to your local town councilman/state senator/rep/senator, etc and get a petition going... do whatever needs to be done. More and more, cops are turning into nothing more than glorified meter maids. Wouldn't it be nice if they actually focused their efforts on stopping/minimizing crime? Now I'm not trying to say laws shouldn't be enforced. I know full well I'm breaking the law by driving around without a front license plate. I also know I'm doing the same when I roll through a stop sign, driver over the speed limit, pass someone without a dotted line, the list goes on... but really, let's face reality. There are some crimes worth enforcing and others that are just too damn petty. Do you think cops in inner cities have time to worry about petty shit like this? If they are, they better get their heads out of their ass and go after the real crime. Seems like only the 'super trooper' types with nothing better to do have to resort to such crap. Ugh... makes me sick. And to think society puts them on such a pedestal... Don't get me wrong, inner city cops deserve ever ounce of respect I can give them. But these townies jerkin off while makin $50/hour parked in a cruiser all day...

....end rant

I'm class of '02.

Looks like I'll keep going to Bloomington for service. I've had her in twice for elective work, and they've been stellar both times. Actually, the second time I was in, they commented on how much they liked my winter wheels. Nice people and great service, but man is that a long drive...

Oh, and I haven't been to Heritage since I was shopping for mine back in September, so I haven't seen the GTO. Which salesman did you end up dealing with?
