View Full Version : Slipping Clutch?

I think my clutch showed its first signs of slipping this morning. I was merging onto the Interstate and laid into it in 4th gear and as soon as i hit full boost the car kinda shuttered and the rpm's kinda went up and I did not go anywhere. I let off the gas and laid into it slower the next time and it seemed fine. When i got off the interstate I gave it 3/4 throttle in 2nd gear and it pulled just fine. If it is cold outside will it have any effect on how well the clutch grabs?
I have heard that when a clutch starts to go it will slip in the higher gears first. Is this what I am experiencing?
If so, how long can you ride out a clutch once it starts slipping?
Thanks in advance for any insight.

I drove 2 months with my old clutchmasters stage IIR. Just go easy on it and don't let it or it can burn up fast!

yep, stay away from SPEC. I know some have had good luck, but I would not buy from them again.

Exedy stage 1 it is... i have heard some people say they don't like the lightweight flywheel on their DD. What is the reason for this?

bump, what is the reason people would stay away from the lightweight flywheel for a DD?

a ligherwieght flywheel makes it harder to take off, esp. on a hill, but they accelerate so fast i say get it!
