Is it worth $600 for the 4 yr service contract?
My wife is scared that we may void the warranty if we do things like oil ourselves.

Extended warranties are a good thing to have just in case. $600 is pretty damn cheap. I would check the coverage. The more you spend the better the contract ( covers more stuff). If you do your own oil changes save every reciept for oil, filters and stuff. That way you have proof they were done. Also make sure dates and mileage are recorded.

this sounds like less of an extended warranty and more of a contract to do the basic services required on a car within a certain time period. (ie oil changes, brakes, etc)
how long is the contract for? What are they stating they'll do for that $600?

Taylors right. It does sound more like a maintenence contract not a service contract. Service contracts are about double what you were charged.

Save your $600, does not effect the warranty. Will not cover brakes, wear item.

I would have to say the same thing that $600 actually is a very good bargain actually. And regarding your situation, why do you have to change your own oil since you are going to pay $600 to the dealer? Isn’t that supposed to cover everything? And why you have to do something yourself since you have already paid someone to do it for you. That just doesn’t make sense. Well, anyways, read the whole contract of what would they cover, so that you won’t lose your $600 value of service coverage.
