I learned something new today, Mazda is using a new kind of engine mount on our cars, called magnetorheological fluid coupler. While this tech is used in the worlds most exotic luxury cars, how could they have screwed it up so badly in our cars? Plus, they only use the fluid mount on 1 side of the engine bay, I would assume in attempts to cut down on costs?

replace all mounts

But if people are doing fine just replacing one why didn't mazda just use the good one on both sides?

Lol, you guys are crazy. The fluid filled mount is not better, is worse! For performance anyway. Those filled mounts are only good to reduce vibes for OEM applications, not very good to keep the engine in place. Don't believe me? Go ask Darksun, I think he's still around here. He broke the damn thing Twice!

I agree, the stock mounts suck.

HAHA! Yeah didn't even know it was fluid filled til the tech lady told me! So I'm replacing both rear and front side! But of course they are aftermarket!

I "fluid filled" my rear mount....with epoxy....(drive2)

Now fast shifts aren't accompanied with a sickening lurch from the drivetrain...(rockon)
